My cracked rim : (

Well I had a slow leak in my front left tire so i instead of paying .75 cents every 3 days to fill it up i decided to get it checked out today from Town fair Tire since they have free flat repair. Well anywho their was a huge line so i figured ill wait the 2 HOURS !!! since i had to get it fixed anyways. Well any who. they take my car in. take the rim off and 3 minutes later i hear them call me over. And my damn rim is cracked. Im not happy one bit. So now I either have to get a new rim or get it welded to fix the probelm. Has anybody here have experienced welding rims? Please explain if so. Heres a pic of it.

and so basiclly i waited 2 hours missed one of my classes for school all for them to change my tire and put my spare on. Atleast i have my OEM rims so i have a full size spare.

Edit: crack is on the inside of the rim. Thats why i never saw it before.

What size rims are you running and what profile tire? I was sketchy running 215/45/17 on my Z24 in New England. The roads in Mass and NH suck for custom wheels if there isn't enough rubber to protect them.

There has to be a rim repair place in Mass somewhere. Check the phone-book. If the wheels are aluminum, any machine shop or good welding should be able to hook you up.

Contact the manufacturer of your rim and ask for new retail source. Replacing the wheel for what, $150?, seems a lot easier then paying for an aluminum welded repair.

how much did each rim cost? they don't look very expensive so it might be better to just buy another one dude. i wouldn't have them weld it. you might not care, but safety is a must for me. welding a rim just doesn't sound right.

I would just try to find another rim. 1 replacement can't be that much money.

I thought your car was red?

haha. damn camra phones. so much more convienent tho then taking out the digi and uploaded it.

but ya i got a hold of wheelmax.com and they said this

The rim you are asking about is an older Sport Max Primax rim. We are currently out of stock of that model and are not sure if they will be sending us another batch. We recommend you contacting Sport Max about this rim directly or another distributer or theirs. Thanks for your inquiry.

I searched but i can not find the direct link to sport max. i found like 2 other distrubtors and thats it. .

looks like i'll be getting it welded
