We are at the mercy of the new jersey crew. I'm waiting for them to reply with that. I asked them to mapquest to our area and see how many hours it will take. I will post in here as soon as I find out.

Alright, I have absolutely no clue when we'll hit Virginia :lol: It's a 15 hour total drive for us.

Its about a 6hour drive from Stafford VA to Wilmington. If we wanna get down there with enough time to party/mingle/eat.. id say we depart from Stafford around 12pm - 1pm. If not earlier. Gotta remember.. its the weekend.. and traffic through Richmond is gonna be REALLY shitty between 3-7pm. We'll prolly take 295 to try and avoid it.

Do you guys think a meet window of 12pm-1pm is good? For everyone (NJ, NY, Michigan) to meet up in Stafford.

ok man here is the update. we are all meeting at the rest stop on 95s in deleware just past the bridge. so far the time we are meeting at 830am and roll by 9am. but just waiting to set that time in stone. but pretty damn sure thats what we are planning. myself and billig ss/sc have been talking about this.

so what time would that put you at the first VA spot (143) and then at 104?

not quite sure i have to research it and look at mapquest to see. and then get back to you.

ok i checked it out from that reststop to exit 143b is about 2hr 40min per mapquest. so if we leave at 9am then you are talking about 1130-12pm w/ no traffic. and i used a gas station for an address at exit 104. that would be another 40 min or so. per mapquest

what kind of walkies i have motorolas

they are uniden and i also have motorolas, but i was having problems with using both of them. it would only work one way uniden to motorola not the other way. dont know why. thats why i was suggesting we try and get same ones. if possible

CBs can go farther but they cost a bit more, but two-ways you normally get in pairs.

2 way radio's but if they are the same make it shouldnt be a problem. thats why i posted the link to walmart. that radio has 22 channels and 99 private channels.

Purchase multiple radios from the same manufacturer. Although all FRS and GMRS radios use the same frequencies, their other features (such as so-called privacy codes) don't always work between brands. GMRS radios share some channels with FRS radios. If you're replacing an FRS radio, buy a GMRS unit.

Its only worth it if 5+ get them. Makes the long ass cruise go by faster.. you can talk shit over the radio, play games.
Also comes in handy if we space the people with radios out, so we can call turns ahead of time and have like 2 in the front.. 2 in the middle, and the some in the back, that way we can get the herd of cobalts over to the right lanes and such in time.

They just said, last time I was at the track, that it has gotten so big that they need to make it two days instead of one. Since it is so late in the season a lot of the pro guys come to run record times. There was a turbo cobalt there (the Mobil One guy) that set a new ET record of like 9.1 or some thing like that.

the only problem with that is after va there really is not rest areas. NC has a info rest area when you enter but thats it. if you need gas or a pisser, you have to get off and exit. i make this drive every year to myrtle beach. if we all stay in a somewhat close group and the radios are spread out evenly we should be good

There are a few good exits. There is one with a shell.. its about the only thing there... it has plenty of room for us... its also right next to the highway so we'll put on a show for all the cars driving by.
