So my cat is shot...

So my vibrant high flow is done...I'm getting a new one but in the mean while I was thinking of gutting it. I'm running a vibrant header and d/p along with a corsa touring exhaust. As of now it sounds like ass and and you hear the cat rattle at time. So need some input on how bad a gutted cat would sound on it.

stay with the vibrant, it's good stuff, even on mine. Contact them and see what they will do to replace it.

its going to be loud man. its not going to be as bad as the muffler delete i had but its its the same thing as having a catless downpipe. if you have a decent exhaust it shouldnt be too bad.

I'm trying to figure if it'll be louder with the broken cat or catless. Or if one has a nicer sound than the other (kinda the lesser of two evils lol).

it will be louder with the cut out man. you hollow it out and it leaves more flow. if your shitis all bsted up in there then it will just clink and clank... i say cut it out or hollow it out.

1. itll sounds shitty
2. tests have shown that gutted cats can hurt performance because they create a large amount of turbulence and ruin any scavenging that could possibly happen there.

if you gut it consider actually going to the parts store and picking up a 2.5" or what ever size it is piece of pipe and trying to fit that in there. even a smooth 2.25" pipe would probably flow more air than a gutted cat.
