I've heard that if you jump from a 35W ballast to a 55W ballast you bulb color drops about 1000K. For example if I have a 6000K bulb and a 35W ballast and go up to a 55W ballast the color would be more like a 5000K bulb. Is this correct?

Also will a 55W ballast increase the light output from the bulb?

Thanks in advance!!!

If you get 55w kit, buy resistors too. If the ballast fails, say goodbye to your harness and welcome to an electrical nightmare. Please don't put 55w in your headlights; 35w hid in halogens glare enough. We don't need anymore.

They go "down" the kelvin scale simply because they are getting more power. You don't need 55w though - do as you please. 55> 35 - you'll get more light, but more glare.
