Vary first day at the track with GM stage 2

I finally went to the track to see what me and the SS can do. This is the vary first time that I have been to a track. I have a ETD and GM Stage 2. Everything else is stock. I had 3 runs. The first I had a vary bad reaction time but still pulled a 14.68. I also spun vary bad in second. The second run was my best but I still got a bad reaction time. The 3rd and final pass I red lighted and got a reaction time of -.057. It was one of those races were they let the slower car go first and so I was not ready for it and red lighted. I also spun bad in first and had to back out of it. The **** in second was not the best ether.

All in all i am vary pleased with the times. I now know I need to work on my reaction times and 60' times.

Hear is the time slips.

Engalls Torque Dampener? I think LOL.

Good runs man. IM not familar with your area, is that high above sea level? Your 60 foot is what is hurting you, if you get that down to 2.1/2.2's your be in the 13's easy man. Good try for your first track visit.

not bad times for a first timer. def. work on that 60ft. but it also seems like you were either not shifting well or being conservative on the redlining. next time out, take her all the way to 7Krpms! that's the new redline for stage 2 if I read it right.

I was shifting at red line. I just was not getting off line line good and I was not getting enough traction. The track kinda sucked for me in that regards. I am not sure why you all think I was not shifting at red line.

I think they were looking for a higher trap speed. I can run 14.5's all day and trap from 97-101. The added hp/tq may be throwing you off a bit. I wonder if that is why you aren't getting better 60' times. Mine are usually in the 2.2+ range (usually above 2.3).

yea, we are wondering why you aren't trapping higher. You must not be shifting well then since you say you are taking it to that redline. Just keep working on it and you will see improvements!

I think you guys are right with the shifting. I think I was shifting a little too soft. I did not really bang through the gears or at least in retrospect I think I could have when through them quicker.

After looking at most of the time slips posted it seems that with the mods that I have I am right were I should be. I think with some better wheels and DR's I can get better 60' time but then I could suffer the clutch slipping problem. Also with better shifting along with the DR I could possible get into well into the 13's. Also in retrospect maybe I let off the gas too early because I did not know were the finish line was.

Anyway thanks for all of your helpful input..
