so you went out and got nos but still using stock intake and exhaust......
i guess you're going all out sleeper....
personally i would never get NOS but that's just me
all you need to do now is to just clean up the engine bay and hide the wires as best as you can

You know sometimes you have to think about HP/$$. I think this is what this guy did. He is N/A not SC. so he cant do the same things as we can to get real HP on a budget. and if that is all the HP he wanted I think it was a good way to go. there is no one way to do things and for various reasons the way someone did something was the best way for him. you know he maybe able to beat you no if your stock or blow up trying...LOL

At what shot are you running orange cobalt. 50, 75, 100HP. I think he could do 100HP and still be safe. actually I just comfirmed that he can run a 75HP shot as per GM SPort Compact performance build book with stock engine. I think he has done some home work guys. he will be at 225HP that maybe enough to hang with us or beat us. yeah this is a sleeper.

now if he gets an CAI, exhaust, exhaust header, adjustable cam gears he will do 250HP as per GM COOK BOOK. that is with stock intake manifold too! GM does recommend replacement of this. not stock parts are junk. you can buy a "performance part" and dont get any performance.

well put snipes.

oh he'll defintiely at least keep up with you guys if not pull on you at lower speeds

I don't think he's used it yet since the window switch isn't in yet, wise move.

the largest hurdle will be relearning how to drive it with the nitrous once he gets to the larger shots. that's part of what's killing my times right now, and I can't get any more seat time until I'm through with my physical therapy which really sucks.

I'd say he did his homework, whatever he wasn't sure on I tried to help with on here, but looks like it's pretty well done.

BTW you can go sleeper and still have an aftermarket intake, it just takes a little creative cutting of the stock airbox assembly.

Hey SlowIon, where did you get that little peice of pipe for the throtle body? I've been trying to find something to fit like that for my intake also.

Ahh, you only get 18 inches of line for from the fuel solenoid and N20 solenoid. So there is no way of hiding them.

Also, no I have not sprayed yet due to the fact I am waiting on a RPM window switch like slowion2 said. And yes I am planning on upgrading intake, exaust and headers. The only reason the nitrous kit came first is because I got a really good deal ($540 CAD) And like I said I need to clean up the engine bay an hide the wires. We have really dirty winters in Newfoundland and when the snow melts it is nothing but dirt everwhere.

I work in construction so there is no "set" schedule, if work needs to be done then there goes my weekend so I was strapped for time when I was doing this project but I took my time and did everything right.

It is just a aftermarket intake with the stock intake cut to fit over it.

yep, it's the elbow of my AEM cold air intake, only real part you can see. but I have seen a few guys buy just that in place of the huge baffle that was there before. AEM sells it alone if you really needed it, but any 90*degree turn will work.

I wouldn't say that it's "just" that, it took a lot of cutting and fitting and more cutting and creative routing to get everything hidden and inside there. Then again, the whole idea was that the untrained eye would think it's stock. most of my modifications you can't see anyway

Exactly what I was thinking, I like your style.

Yep, I mounted it sideways under the top of the pedal linkage. Takes a bit of screwing around but its pretty simple. Here is a pic

haha yeah we were talking about this once before. I'm actually getting a second set of wheels that are gunmetal 17's and I'm seriously debating on not keeping them because they'll stand out too much LOL

thanks for the picture of the WOT microswitch orangecobalt, I'm sure there were a lot of people wondering how to mount theirs as well

im not being ignorant or ne thing but i would never use nos because i think it is cheating...i see that as a last resort to win a race when your engine isnt strong enough to win on its own

that's possibly the dumbest thing I've ever heard next to that guy with the S2000 who plumbed his dry shot into his valve cover.

I guarantee if you ever drove a car with a kit installed, or at least had ridden in one, you wouldn't sound so ignorant about the system.

here's a fun fact: many people build their engines around the effects of nitrous (i.e. longer duration on the exhaust cam, larger port size than the intake port to compensate for increased exhaust volume, etc.). as a result, they might be a dog off the bottle, but once you use the system it comes to life like a rocket.
