windows getting scratched as they go up and down

I have power windows on my cobalt (coupe) and I've had it since the end of June. A week or two after getting my car, I noticed that whenever I put the driver's window down or up, it sounds like something inside my door is scratching my windows and the scratches show on my window. This doesn't happen when I use my passenger window. Has anyone else had this problem? I'm thinking there might be stuff from trees somewhere in my door which is causing this to happen.

The window liner is dirty and the dirt in the liner is scratching the tint on your car. You can take it off and clean it. But if it is the teflon window liner it will get dirty again and begin scratching your tint again. I'm not sure about Cobalts but on my ion I had the same problem and when I had my car retinted I had them replace the window liner from teflon to felt strips and now I have no issues.

Hope that helps!

This^^. I noticed small rocks would get caught in that felt liner on the outside that seals the window at the bottom.
