Whine is whistleyish

06 ss/sc with stage 2 and injen. I've had my mods on for a good 15k miles so I know what normal is. The past week or so when under load, my whine's noise has changed. It almost sounds like the normal whine, but then with some extra high pitch whistle that goes along with the normal st2 w/ injen whine I had before. I have no loss of boost or anything. Besides the difference of noise, everything is the same. The difference of whine is best heard at 5-7k rpm. I've checked my intake and everything is tight. The chargers whine just sound a bit different under lots of rpm. Any issues that i've missed in my years being here? 37k miles on the car.

Mike

could be a small leak somewhere in your intake path. maybe a loose coupler on your injen?

i have something similar with my 2.4 manifold on my 2.2 but i believe it's linked to the adapter plate.

check your hoses and clamps before anything.

Mike did you check for a hole on the back side of your intake tube? The injens tend to rub on a bolt behind the intake tube.

mine did this when the cat got clogged. too much backpressure on the compressor.

I have a wedding this weekend, near stevens point. I have to meet up sometime again...it's been way too long. Lots have changed too. Life is crazy.

clogged cat? why would that create a whistleish whine? don't get me wrong, it's not very noticable, but i can hear the difference.
