OK Here are the rules for the 2009 event. Items in Red are NEW for this year.


True Street (1 or less performance adder)
Real Street (2 Performance adders)
Quick Street (3 Performance adders)
Super Street (4 Performance adders)
Pro Street (5 or more Performance adders)
Outlaw (6 or more Performance adders)



4 Cylinder = 0 Power adders
6 Cylinder = 1 power adder
8 Cylinder or larger engine +2
Turbo/Supercharger/Nitrous +1 each
Sticky tires +1 (All slicks/drag radials etc)
AWD +1
Alcohol as main fuel source + 1
Sticky tires 10.5” or UNDER on the sidewall or 295 drag radials or UNDER + 1
Sticky tires over 10.5” on the sidewall or 295 if a drag radial +2(Includes 10.5W)
All cars will be checked for DB of noise at 3500 rpm no load - if over 95 db +1

Absolutely NO Tow backs or Tow Vehicles

Any Bye runs must be within 15% of your previous best run

There will be Cash + Prizes for each class as well as Cash bonus for the following:

Quickest Et of event
Quickest 60 foot
Quickest Et Naturally aspirated
Fastest MPH Naturally aspirated
Quickest pass by a truck
Best R/T of event
Quickest pass by a sport compact

oct 3 im going to have the cav out and going for the 12 sec bracket, turning the boost up for this one.
oct 4 if the cav still runs and my girlfriend will be driving the cobalt.

man i so want to bring my bike but its A. in pieces right now and B. even if i put it back together i dont know if they would let me on the track with a cracked front cowl.

Ill be out looking for some good air = fast times.

snakes, you can run the cracked cowl. guys have half thier bikes duct taped.

well i got my right upper and lower fairings off and primed...lol. I'll run the car. What time are these races at? same time as friday nights? BTW your wifes bike looks amazing

i got invited to go friday DAY. sponsor perc. no lineups.
i wont take the camaro back til i have the other parts on for next spring, unless the wife wants to run it.
the balt could go back.....the motor really needs some loosen up miles now.

the fastest street shootout is a sepert event going on sat, so if you just want to do the regular street legal that also runs on sat also.

fuck i wish i had my bike running for this. It runs but it wont go into gear because i got the kickstand off...waiting for the replacement part...Also got all my fairing off, about the take my tank off and get the bike ready for the intake filter and a few other mods.

i will be cruising up to castrol at 6:30 tommorrow saturday morning, i will be going through ponoka and up hwy 2 and to castrol, be there about 8:15 before the rush. will be in both cars, cavalier and the cobalt. hope the weather stays nice:twothumbs

ill be leaving my place around 7:15 ish...

i checked on 780 tuners and they are saying the gates don't open untill 10 am,
not 8 am

breakfast perhaps?

i am putting the cobalt back to a street car for the year, now that i found the 12's, so no blown motor for me tomorrow!!!
maybe if its warm enuf, ill run the bike one last time before i sell it.

i retract my previous post. I'll be bringing my bike. I just fixed my kickstand....my fairings look like shit but oh well. And by shit i mean one will be primed but no paint and is prepped for body filler..lol

Bike is back together....wish it was painted but oh well. I'll be leaving in about 30mins - 1hr...waiting for the temps to raise abit.

what a horrible day and the trip up, i should of turned around at the first problem of the day.
Had a spark plug go bad on me on hwy 2, just before wetaskwin overpass. so parked the car and jumped in the cobalt and went into wetaskwin to find a plug, 2 hrs later and last stop found one. reinstalled and on the road again.
just about 2 km from castrol the car starts to jerk and shutter and loss power big time, turn the corner into castrol all fine, get to the gate the car dies:cussing:

wait a minute and it fires up, running fine.
change my tires, inspection, wait in line for over and an hour and finally pull up.
do my burn out, start to pull up and starts to sputter some and then goes away, so now im like this things going to blow up, light turns and after second gear it sputters and runs like crap, so i pull to the side, car dies, so i coast, guys at the end of track start to drive down to see whats up, car finally starts so i pull up, tell them that it was only an ingnition problem.
pull into the pits, change tires and drove home, thinking the whole time what the hell is wrong with the car.
get close to stettler and im checking boost pressure,its good, checking air/fuel thats fine. i stop on the hwy just outside of stettler and i give it a run, it pulls fast and hard, no hesition nothing.
well im baffled, so the only thing i can think is that i must of a bad injector or ign problem.

So time to park the car and get ready to pull the motor and do a complete rebuild.
have a good winter and see everybody out next year.
