Clear Image Intake up-date

I deleted the original CAI and SRI sale threads so I can replace them with this up-date thread.

After many problems with suppliers and getting hold of the correct parts, I have started shipping intakes this week. I am looking over every intake tube before I pack it and ship. The ceramic coating and powder coating have resulted in a few issues. All MAF flange holes need to be re-tapped to make sure the threads are clean. When they arrive to you, they will be as perfect as possible, function without issues and look great.

Thanks to everyone for all your patience. I will continue to pack your orders and ship until they are gone.

Have a great weekend.

I'm not really all that upset about the wait for the CAI. First, I know it will look great in my engine compartment and second it will be a great improvement in horsepower when the upgrade cal finally gets here. I'm not going to install the CAI until the ECU cal is done anyway. I don't want to give the dealer any excuse's to give me a ration of **** over aftermarket parts.

Not quite sure why you think you will get more horsepower without getting a tune.

I can't wait to get my SRI. It will finish my upgrades until winter is over.

Gotta read the whole sentence. AFTER THE CAL. CAL = calibration = tune.

If you are talking about the GMS1 cal then I think its safe to say that any aftermarket intake will still skew the maf readings. Hell for all we know when gm finally releases their intake it may require a reflash as well just to work 100% These pull thru mafs are finicky

Still waiting on my SRI... As much as I love my stuff I have got so far, 4 months is a bit long... Can we get an update on the SRI from anyone? My SRI update thread is gone, and all there is now is this for the CAI.

Got it in, getting ready to go for a spin. Here's hoping to no hesitation/chugging. By the way, if anyone got theirs today...make sure you have 3 clamps before you start! Mine came with only two but you need 3. Luckily I have some worm drives laying around from another project. Will be back in a bit...........

Everything is great, a/f is -2 which is still acceptable (still have a hot and humid as hell tune on the car) . Car runs perfect. I had another intake on my car and that lasted just a few days because i couldn't stand to drive the car with it on there. I usually drive pretty tame and the constant bucking at 1500-2700rpm was driving me insane.

Criticisms? I'm going to wait to post those until I can speak to Dan. There are now show stoppers, the functionality is great. There are just some concerns that I have.

Overall I can say that it is a great product. With the problems I had with another intake and problems reported about every other intake on the market, the CIA CAI seems to do what it's supposed to do.

Unfortunately, my car is not going to make it to the dyno for a few months. Since the weather turned cooler the past few days my clutch has been slipping a bit in 5th if I put more than 15lbs to it. With the intake on it is much worse, some slipping in 3rd and 4th now.

I'm going to be putting some more "granny" miles on it this week before it gets parked for a while so we'll see how it holds up!

I'm going to write up a full review with photos (and maybe even install tips), I just have other non car related reviews to write this week.

We still were not ready for tires. Sorry to hear about your job. It's amazing how many people are out of work these days. i hope you find something quickly.

My frustration with these kits is enough to cover everyone. Murphy's Law definitely prevailed and continues to.

Much appreciated. We did do everything possible to offer the best looking, fitting and functioning product.

Though the MAF is sensitive, we did manage to design the kits with minimal to no fuel trim fluctuations.

Due to the incredible number of problems I have had putting these kits together, I am seriously considering pulling both the CAI and SRI from my product line. We will at least build intakes to use the machine parts already on hand. But it will be limited.

Pretty much. We had the factory breather fitting and MAF flange duplicated to insure no intake leaks.

This thread was created to replace both the CAI and SRI threads as I am working on both right now.

The only clamp not included is the 2 1/2" clamp for the turbo end of the silicone elbow. The stock clamp from the stock elbow is 2 1/2" and should be used.

Glad to hear that. With all the problems I have had putting these kits together and getting them shipped, it's nice to know the customer is able to run problem free. Almost makes all my frustration worth it.

I've been running around between the office and shop so I have been tough to reach. I definitely want your impressions. I know some install tips would have been helpful but i just haven't had a chance to sit and write-up a detailed explanation. Glad to hear our kit was a drastic improvement over the other kit you had. That was definitely our goal, to provide an intake which functions properly. Give me a call when you can.

I'll be shipping more today and will continue to until all orders are filled.

Thanks all.
