Clear Image Intake up-date
Clear Image Intake up-date
I deleted the original CAI and SRI sale threads so I can replace them with this up-date thread.
After many problems with suppliers and getting hold of the correct parts, I have started shipping intakes this week. I am looking over every intake tube before I pack it and ship. The ceramic coating and powder coating have resulted in a few issues. All MAF flange holes need to be re-tapped to make sure the threads are clean. When they arrive to you, they will be as perfect as possible, function without issues and look great.
Thanks to everyone for all your patience. I will continue to pack your orders and ship until they are gone.
Have a great weekend.

I'm not really all that upset about the wait for the CAI. First, I know it will look great in my engine compartment and second it will be a great improvement in horsepower when the upgrade cal finally gets here. I'm not going to install the CAI until the ECU cal is done anyway. I don't want to give the dealer any excuse's to give me a ration of **** over aftermarket parts.

I can't wait to get my SRI. It will finish my upgrades until winter is over.
If you are talking about the GMS1 cal then I think its safe to say that any aftermarket intake will still skew the maf readings. Hell for all we know when gm finally releases their intake it may require a reflash as well just to work 100% These pull thru mafs are finicky
so this is the only intake no one has probems with their car running like ****? lol
once i get the $$$ i want to get the SRI and the CP.

Still waiting on my SRI... As much as I love my stuff I have got so far, 4 months is a bit long... Can we get an update on the SRI from anyone? My SRI update thread is gone, and all there is now is this for the CAI.
Got it in, getting ready to go for a spin. Here's hoping to no hesitation/chugging. By the way, if anyone got theirs today...make sure you have 3 clamps before you start! Mine came with only two but you need 3. Luckily I have some worm drives laying around from another project. Will be back in a bit...........
Everything is great, a/f is -2 which is still acceptable (still have a hot and humid as hell tune on the car) . Car runs perfect. I had another intake on my car and that lasted just a few days because i couldn't stand to drive the car with it on there. I usually drive pretty tame and the constant bucking at 1500-2700rpm was driving me insane.
Criticisms? I'm going to wait to post those until I can speak to Dan. There are now show stoppers, the functionality is great. There are just some concerns that I have.
Overall I can say that it is a great product. With the problems I had with another intake and problems reported about every other intake on the market, the CIA CAI seems to do what it's supposed to do.
Unfortunately, my car is not going to make it to the dyno for a few months. Since the weather turned cooler the past few days my clutch has been slipping a bit in 5th if I put more than 15lbs to it. With the intake on it is much worse, some slipping in 3rd and 4th now.
I'm going to be putting some more "granny" miles on it this week before it gets parked for a while so we'll see how it holds up!
I'm going to write up a full review with photos (and maybe even install tips), I just have other non car related reviews to write this week.
