well me and a couple of freinds have been working with this local shop around me. and my buddy has a 99 eclipse gs-t. well he blew out his clutch is how this story starts. well he and another idiot decide to pull the motor and trans to replace the clutch. well as it turns out they dont know **** about cars. well they get it out somehow. thats when they get the idea hey lets build this engine up while we have it out. bad idea but basically they get over there head. thats when i get called in they snapped 2 head bolts off into the block. they lost over half the bolts to the engine. and to top it off his turbo and charge piping get stolen. but long story short. he comes up with 8 grand to put into it. so this is what he gets a magnus intake brian crowler .292 cams ported head turbonetics gtk turbo. not sure what trim i think its a 83 mm. well thats enough talking time for pics

no its a fully forged motor bored .20 over but the 6 months comment i beleive. the kid cant drive for **** thats how he fucked the clutch the first time its way to much car for him. thats why when it comes to going down the track i will be driving. ask ltzxstatic sp? he knows i can put out at the track. but even though its fwd i still am gonna predict low 11's with slicks.
I give it 4 months if that. And area you are right the thing will crankwalk before it gets to the 13's if the kid doesn't know how to drive. I bet hes gonna boost the s$$t out of it and the things gonna blow up. He'll probably blow the motor right apart, or there goes the intake manifold, I have seen it happen before.
7-bolt second gen. He never stated otherwise. Let alone if the kid can't drive that clutch interplay plus the powerlevel will only make things exponentially worse.
Theres a much more impressive DSM build on one of the local st.louis sites. Guy is putting a 4g63 into a fox body mustang.
And yes the crank walk issue was with 7 bolt second gen motors. Though somehow I doubt this kid did a 6 bolt conversion. And christ will that manifold clear the firewall?

tomzilla's aren't that great. even with the gtk cover.
crank walk can effect any internal combustion engine. the issue with the dsm is the thrust bearings. 6 bolts can crank walk as well. have seen it first hand. supra's are just as bad about it. same with miata's

I had a friend in high school who had a talon and ended up with a crank a few times out of spec and even after the rebuild it was a continuous problem. Sounded like the cam at first
BTW, G. Carano FTMFW
yeah he has a 6-bolt and i have been telling him that hes going to have hella bad lag. he just doesnt beleive me. but i will be driving so i guarabtee it will be in the low 12's atleast. but also i dont have pics of the car i will here soon though.
is there weight reduction?
