I'd never uncapped it before... my afrs went a little nutty (as you will see in the attached hpt screenshot), but it popped the dipstick on the 2nd pull (when they bounced it off the rev limiter), so I didn't make an adjusted 3rd pull.
1st Pull Put Down 290/27x ..
2nd pull I got more agressive with timing and leaned it a bit across the board - 304/276

And for comparison (same dyno) chart with my M62 Chart laid over the new tvs chart:
(I Photoshopped this just so you could see the difference between the two, this isn't an official printed off sheet) - The difference between the two is a TVS and header versus manifold. M62 Numbers were 272/254

Me Too....
It's done it once before, both times it's happened the car got hammered off the rev limiter and the log showed 7500 rpm and 21psi..lol
Cobalttc05 09-27-2009, 04:54 PM noice
interviewatruins 09-27-2009, 04:58 PM would you have made more power going to 7500?
Jared B 09-27-2009, 04:59 PM nice numbers
Cobalttc05 09-27-2009, 05:00 PM what meth mix are you using
383_Stroker 09-27-2009, 05:06 PM would you have made more power going to 7500?
It pretty well levels off from 6100-7000 all right around 300hp. I've read that the tvs makes power past 7000rpm.. I'm not sure if maybe it's the lack of intake making mine level off there.. or my lack of tuning abilities

50/50 - Race Methanol / Distilled Water
Cobalttc05 09-27-2009, 05:09 PM Moar Methanol :)
Enuff_Said 09-27-2009, 05:12 PM Torque line looks good, Injector cycle is looking good. Just need to control those afr's a little more and get that HE in! LOL. Build the motor and spin her higher :D

Lol.. thanks!
When it's capped up the afr's range from 11.7-12.1
On that pull they ranged 11.4-12.3
Moar Methanol :)
I'm getting away with 25* on 50/50.. I like it there :cssNET:
P.S. My favorite part of the vid... everyone holding their ears because of how loud the cutout is..LOL
Enuff_Said 09-27-2009, 05:23 PM any chance of a 2.9 getting on there :-)

I've got one in my storage closet, waiting for me to work up the nerve
drew1991sf 09-27-2009, 05:42 PM y havent u got an intake? either the zzp 3" or ottp 3"?

I know i need one.. I just have a hard time talking myself into spending $200+ on $20 of tubing..lol
Sizzle06 09-27-2009, 06:13 PM I have a ZZP 3" intake that i only had on for about 2 weeks i can sell you,$150 shipped

make ur own buy piping off ebay.
my friend made his own intakes on his m5 from 3" piping from cx racing bought off ebay

You people always freak over the dipstick and cry "#4!!!".... Intake mani has a higher chance of needing a new gasket. It has been off before on his car and also, the 05-early 06 had an older design for the IM gasket.
Mine pops, compression is fine. I need a gasket
Congrats on breaking 300 Dustin. I now have a goal for my m62 to beat in the coming months. Proud of you and your car. Let me tune it next time we're together and not raining like last time. Don't fret over your #4

y r u selling ur ottp cai???

could be both, my rev limit was at 7200rpm and i went up that high, power never stopped...it wanted to make more past that but i didnt want to change the limit.

Thanks Man! ;)

rolf...my bad, i cant read...
383_Stroker 09-28-2009, 10:57 AM Interestingly enough.
Capped up, My car was flowing 41lb/min at the top of 3rd (on the way to the dyno, so i know conditions were similar).. The pull it made on the dyno (uncapped) only flowed 39lb/min.. LOL.. I don't even know what to make of that
freakta 09-28-2009, 11:23 AM thats a good amountof tq. thats what im looking for, a bit morelow end tq. any tricks to get it up there?
ebristol 09-28-2009, 11:38 AM thats a good amountof tq. thats what im looking for, a bit morelow end tq. any tricks to get it up there?
In your timing table, make sure to have your peak timing at or just before where you car makes peak tq. Its called Max Tq timing (or something close to that).
Small pulleys also make much better tq then larger ones.
WickedSS2005 09-28-2009, 11:48 AM Dustin, your car is in motion on the road... on the dyno it is stationary. Less air flow. A fan is never the same as your car traveling 80+ MPH
proZak 09-28-2009, 08:23 PM Battery died right at the end of the dyno....
Words cant describe how loud this really was.... well maybe watchin people plug their ears...

Thanks for the Vid! Yeah, it's pretty much hella loud when uncapped.... which is why i've never been able to tune it uncapped.
Very nice numbers for a 3.1" pulley. :twothumbs
Thanks! ;)
Deathscythe 09-29-2009, 01:12 PM Welcome to the fold man ;)
Remember you have room to work with, and don't move too fast.
383_Stroker 09-29-2009, 03:08 PM Thanks!
CX Heat Exchanger Next..
Then Probably 2.9" :)
lsjwannabe 09-29-2009, 03:14 PM Nice numbers :)
2.9 will be fun for 3 weeks  trust me
Deathscythe 09-29-2009, 03:24 PM Mine was fun for a few months, but it will get old quick!
383_Stroker 09-29-2009, 04:53 PM I'm a bit worried about my stock clutch.. that already slips when 2-3 shifting quickly..lol.. smaller pulley with totally help that... LOL
lsjwannabe 09-29-2009, 05:21 PM I have a few things that can help with that :)
Tennpenn83 09-29-2009, 05:49 PM I'm a bit worried about my stock clutch.. that already slips when 2-3 shifting quickly..lol.. smaller pulley with totally help that... LOL
i'm right with you on that one! stock clutch will prob not last that much longer
ralliartist 09-29-2009, 05:50 PM this is proof that a cutout won't kill your tq. Most TVS guys are making right close to that hp, but lower tq.
Glad to see some decent numbers. Still, I'd like to just see a few guys get on the dyno and laydown close to 350whp with similar mods. I dunno.

someone has done over 350/300 with a tvs
:)
also. the stock clutch will hold it, if you drive it right

Are you limiting boost in the rpm zones that the shifts fall in to keep yours from slipping.. Or just shifting a little slower?
All i have to do to keep it from slipping is just shift very deliberately instead of banging the gear.. but i feel slow when i do that..... granted that's faster than slamming the gear and then having to let off until the clutch gets its grip.

that's exactly what i've been doing. last night, my clutch hated me though.

someone, yes. I want some PEOPLE, plural. make well over 300ft/lbs of tq and your stock clutch will slip just stabbing the throttle from a roll.
07sunburst 09-29-2009, 08:39 PM where do we buy the tvs from?

Actually when it happened to me my motor was toast about a month later.

I forgot your "Wicked Tuned" decal last night :\
But it was a BLAST tuning after we got that bug worked out. I think you're higher than Dustin, by Butt dyno
Tennpenn83 09-29-2009, 09:46 PM yeah that clutch didn't like my newfound powa!!
btw... dustin is which one...?
WickedSS2005 09-29-2009, 09:50 PM 383_stroker
Tennpenn83 09-29-2009, 10:02 PM ah.. gotcha. but i'm only faster when my clutch holds

We'll See

i am limiting boost first and second. on street tires trapping 116+ with zero spin. however, in third it gets torque steer happy.
