i have a shit ton of nitrous parts laying around and im going to piece togeather a kit for the cobalt, ive done several kits for friends, but never done a kit for a throttle by wire setup. i was looking on ebay for just the ZEX brain box for a wet kit but have had no luck. is everyone that is using the NX and NOS kits using a window switch? or are you putting a WOT switch on the gas pedal? im doing this right, and you wont see any of the lines or wires so im just seeing what i need to work with here. thanks!!

talks of people using n20 on cobalts but only setups I've seen is on the 2.2L L61 motor and not on the LSJ or 2.4's.

looks like im gonna use a MSD window on/off switch bring it in at 3000 rpm, off at 6400 rpm untill i get the stage 2 then ill bump it up to 6900. ill be using NOS brand "power shot" solinoids, and a NOS "fogger" nozzle ill spray a 35 shot for now then maybe up it in the future :) something that comes out easily for warrenty work :)

^^^ haha Good to see people looking ahead at what might happen later. Good call on the MSD window switch. I have the Digital unit in mine and love it.

I have heard of issues with the TPS sensor switch, so most I've seen with a Redline or SS/SC have the WOT microswitch mounted under their pedal. Much more simple and easy to get to if you ever want to remove it/disable it.

Make sure you position the nozzle after the SC if you're going to run wet shot

i thought a wet shot tapped into the fuel line and went through the injectors...?

slowion2

eh....I agree with the speculation behind that statement, but nobody with the new eaton's has had a problem spraying through them to my knowledge. I spoke the to the owner of Nytrex about this and he felt the same way. to each their own though.

a wet shot takes fuel from an inline source (in our case the test port) and delivers it along with the nitrous at the fogger

is that what you meant unless I'm misunderstanding your post? you just installed your kit so I'm hoping that's it LOL

havent you heard of the new technology?

i thought that a wet kit just delivered the shot via the injectors... not the intake..??

Nope, It's def. through the fogger with the nitrous, I would know...

ive asked around and every shop ive talked too said that the fuel wont hurt the coating, if you can show me proof, and i mean solid proof, not just i heard from some guy who heard from some guy who's brothers wifes uncles 2nd cousing had a failure, then i might take a 2nd look at not spraying through the blower. oh and they make a "NOSZLE" kit its a piece your injector slides through and it injects like a direct port but through the injector bungs instaed of drilling and tapping the intake.

i say just go for it

certainly you would have seen by now if there was hard evidence...its not like LSJ's are the only cars with these blowers so I have no doubts that its been put to the test before.

not only that but you're a nitrous kit away from a high 12/low 13 second pass :)

if you don't trust it you could always build an adapter plate and spray after the blower

exactly. my concern was more along the lines of fuel puddling in the aftercooler, but after looking at the unit more I'm not as worried.

Cobaltburst I had you confused with someone else, but aren't you the guy I met at Bithlo a few weeks ago with my buddy's blue comp package redline?

im not sure if just a window switch will be enough and im not a big fan of WOT switched on the gas pedle, looks like i need to find a ZEX wet kit box!! i have a dry kit ZEX and a wet kit NOS brand, might aswell sell most of it and buy the ZEX!!

well i found my golden key!! its a WOT switch but its electric TPS sensor and acts like a ZEX but i can use my NOS power shot solinoids!! a few companies make them, the one i got is a Dyno tune unit, ZEX makes one and so does NX. I run some dyno tune components in my Z28 and ive never had a failure yet out of thier products. it should be here in a couple days!!

haha I"m the other way around, I prefer the microswitch over the TPS sensor gimmick but hey if it works go with.

DynoTune makes good parts for sure, I've used some of their stuff and never have seen something fail, which is more than I can say for most companies.

The window switch has definitely saved my car about 6 times now because the limiter comes so fast under juice. And i prefer the wot microswitch as well because, not only is it extremely easy to mount because of those bending brackets, but i feel its more safe relying on an actual mechanical switch, lol i dont really have a reason why i feel this way.

probably because I said something about it lol

you drive a slow piece of plastic anyway, what do you know? ;)

I personally don't think you should spray nitrous before the supercharger. The blades on the inside were meant to spin air into the manifold, not fuel. I'd imagine not all the fuel that you're spraying would reach your manifold properly. Just put it to your manifold.

No, its because i like the fact that i actually have to be pressing the switch down, and not relying on some signal that can be messed up. I wouldnt want the tps to revieve some signal because my cars electrical system is messing up, i dunno, like some electrical surge or something lol, and as you know the mechanical wot switch cant be messed up by taht, because the physical part leaves the switch open until pressed (i think  ).

yea, i probably should have just made my name Slowion3. Just wait till i get the turbonator installed though.

I totally agree with that, that's my take on it as well, even if it can go both ways in terms of arguments LOL

ive had a switch stick before, thank god for my window switch on my Z!! this is why im using a TPS switch. that cheap plastic nub that pushes in to make the contact can break, and if it gets twisted can bind up. oh and ive looked into spraying through the blower, its perfectly safe.

lol, so true.

However, the mechanical switch is cheaper! The win! :guns:

I got the mechanical at the pedal linkage and I think its solid.

Yes however Eaton has recently changed coatings for the rotors from teflon to epoxy.
