Well my wife "lent" me her SS for track day last weekend at Mosport :ca: . First time on track with a front drive car in about 20 years, and it took me a few sessions to get the knack of not spinning the inside front comming out of the turns. Alot more throttle finness required than the big rear drive that I'm used to.
Anyway, I'm very impressed with the way the car performed over the course of the day.
It stayed real consistent lap after lap with no brake fade to speak of, very predictable in hard turn ins, no tail end wiggles, no drama. Well balanced in the in the big sweepers with maybe just a bit of a push at the limit, but again no drama. Fairly tight track so the car had more than enough power, mostly 2nd and 3rd gear.
My only complaint was not being held in the seat well enough. Slippery leather seats and non-locking seat belts made for a good workout tryind to stay put. Will have to work on a better harness for next time.
I took her,( my wife), out for a few laps and then explained to her how we could make it work even better;) . So , she says she'll go for the strut tower brace and sway bars to go with the sportlines she has. Some track day stickies would be nice. Then she's going to take the track school so she can drive too.
