Exclamation Body work - experts: Can I adjust the trunk?

Body work experts - can I adjust it myself?

Everything works. It does not seem aligned, where the bumper meets the trunk lid. It does not touch as I can drag a piece of paper in between so it does not rub. It just does not look balance between the left and the right.

As you know, Cobalt's body panel gaps are kind of wide.

Is the hinge or something adjustable? Or is the trunk dead welded to the body? ( I think so, but just asking)

I know, I know. I need pics. I will if it's something that can be adjusted.

yes you can adjust it, i remember having to adjust mine when i swapped my trunk lid. i think you just have to loosen the screws on the trunk lid and then it can be moved to the position you desire.

It does rub. I guess road vibrations does cause it to rub.

So please tell me how I can adjust it.

TIA

That looks like a bumper alignment problem, not a trunk. You don't want to make that gap between the tail light and the trunk any BIGGER.

Check to see that the push in thingies (dont know what they are called are still in the rear fender liner
on both sides and underneath.
They are what actually hold the rear bumper in place and Ive had to replace a bunch of them because the were missing.
