I got caught riding dirty by a traffic light camera!
So I got a damn ticket in the mail for rolling a right turn at a red light.
A freaking $100.00 ticket, starting to get a bit retarded. what's next robot cars that pull people over for burnt out head lights and giving them $500 tickets for it?

Now from what I hear I can fight this case because they have no proof I was driving the car.
Here is what the website states:
Most Asked Questions
Q: What is a photo red light violation?
A: The City of St Louis has adopted regulations for the automated enforcement of St Louis City Traffic code section 17.07.040 and 17.08.130. Accordingly, pursuant to the terms of code, the St. Louis City Police Department is authorized to install and operate an Automated Red Light Enforcement system within the City for the purpose of enforcing traffic control signal regulations. A vehicle may not enter an intersection when the traffic control light is in the red phase. In the absence of a yield sign, a vehicle can make a right turn on the red, only after making a complete stop, and assuring that it is safe to proceed.
Q: What if the registered owner was not driving the vehicle at the time of the violation?
A: The registered owner of a vehicle is mailed the Photo Safety Notice of Violation. If, at the time and place of the violation, the motor vehicle shown was being operated by a person other than the Owner, or the vehicle or the license plate captured by the Automated Traffic Control System Record was stolen, the Owner may submit information to that effect by affidavit, the form printed on the back of your Notice of Violation. If an Owner furnishes satisfactory evidence pursuant to this paragraph, the Municipal Court or City Counselor’s Office may terminate the prosecution of this Notice of Violation issued to the Owner, and if appropriate, issue a Notice of Violation to the person identified in the evidence as the operator of the motor vehicle at the time of the violation.
Q: What is the fine?
A: The photo red light fine in St. Louis is $100.00.

dude you took the turn pretty fast, looks like you barely slowed down. You were caught red handed. Just man up and pay the ticket. If you don't want tickets like that, just come to a stop. problem solved. If you say you weren't driving the car, they will just mail the ticket to the person who was driving. plus the person behind you came to a complete stop lol. just pay the fine. unless you want to go pay court fees when you lose as well. Doesn't seem worth it.
and the van probably got a ticket too. i laugh at people that get caught doing something wrong then complain about it. you broke the law and got caught. be a man and pay your fine.
yea, and i bet the van got a ticket too. Just because someone else does it doesn't mean it's ok for you. you're supposed to come to a complete stop. Does everyone do it? no. But when you get caught, and you're obviously wrong, sometimes you just have to suck it up and pay the fine. Just like speeding. Almost everyone goes a few miles over the limit. But that doesn't mean it's legal, and sometimes you'll get caught.
I understand that, but if I got pulled over by a cop and got handed the ticket that would be a hole different story, this was a ******* camera though, they are just taking money it's getting a bit stupid, that 100 bucks coulda been spent stimulating the economy by buying car parts
Sorry dude if someone crossing the street was tying his/her shoe if front of the truck then darted out after the van was clear you would have slammed your breaks and either hit the person or you wouldn't have slammed your breaks and we would be seeing a bloody mess of a crash. You got caught red handed for something could have been avoided yet it only took the camera 2.3 seconds to determine you were in the wrong.
Thing is the van ahead of you probably got a ticket for the same thing as you. Also if you try to fight it this video is prof you didnt make a complete stop before you turned so you'll end up losing. It might be a different story if you didnt have a video of you doing it.
If they don't have a clear photo of you... Then say "It wasn't me." You don't have to prove you were anywhere else nor do you have to provide the identity of the "person' who was driving. D4 he wasn't caught if they cannot identify the driver, I don't know about you but Big Brother is gettin to big for his britches.

1. watch video
2. read your argument
3. LOL'ed
I don't know the whole "it wasn't me driving" defense. Seems to me like the burden of proof would be on you. They have all the evidence they need to collect $100.
Here's my outlook on all this: Out of the thousands of times I break the speed limit (or whatever traffic violation), you caught me this one time....good on you. I'll give my donation.... It's just not worth the time/effort if you're clearly in the wrong.

it clearly says that if you can prove you weren't driving, they will drop the ticket and send it to the person that was driving. Yea, maybe you can get a lawyer and have it dropped, but a lawyer will most likely be more than 100. And if there's no points, it's not worth it.
im not in any way saying that what I was doing wasn't wrong, I am just stating that I think it is getting a little out of hand that they are putting these cameras on almost every stop light here in STL, and just so you know that stop light is in a very bad neighborhood were I go to school and when I am there and driving around I get the **** out. people stoppe at stop lights get their **** jacked on a daily if not hourly basis.
lol...
