O.K. I Love the color black but it is a pain in the a$$ to shine. Does anyone have any tricks or products that they use when cleaning to get that perfect shine.

How Long does it take you to do all of that cleaning and waxing. It usually takes me 2 hours. How does that Mr clean autoDry work. Ithink my water it hard or something because it leaves white deposits on the paint. It looks like dried salt. Will the autodry take care of that?

The autodry provides a "filter" system to reduce the mineral deposits in our water( that cause the water spots)...So the answer to your question is yes, it will get rid of those pesky water spots..I too own a black cobalt... hope this helps....

That is why this time of year I just go touchless for 6 bucks a wash. The one I use does a damn good job also. No use in spending 2 hours washing to have it dirty again in 1 hour.

oh i hear ya! Every morning theres a fine layer on mine. I have to dust it off all the time. then wash and detail like every 2 days to keep it clean, i could go even more all out but it gets expensive and takes a long time.... Looks great tho when its washed and detailed. I'm thinking of looking into some of that meguires stuff if i can find it here in

I've owned 3 black cars and MANY dark colored cars and trucks....

Between static cling from towel lint, dust particles in the air, and traffic and anything else you can think of, black cars just don't stay clean. It's just something you have to accept with owning a black car. I've tried numerous waxes, car wash solutions, towels or all kinds, and nothing keeps it off.

Personally, this autodry stuff is rediculous. If I get that lazy and use something like that on my car... I'll go buy a car that is in primer and just let it stay dirty. No offense to anyone who loves the product. Not calling you lazy or anything like that. Not trying to start trouble. Just my view on it.

Don't get me started about spray-on wax either.....

heheheheheeh

Oh well. back to the drawing board.

Turtle Wax Black Wax with the chip stick for stone chips. works well, only takes about an hour to apply and buff off. in between waxes, i usually use Meguiar's Quick Detailer.

Weekly I wash with gentle car wash soap and use Griots garage speed shine. Perfect and easy.

If you havent waxed it yet here is what I do:
I wash the car with Dawn once and use a good carnauba wax and zymol polish over that then do my weekly routine as mentioned above.

Nothing new for them though. We got jacked with the swiftness. When their **** hits $12 USD per gallon then they will understand what we are going through.

MR clean all the way ... bought that thing last week and washed it the other day OMG it actually freakin works. Also it being hotter than a hot ass here in phx soap bakes fast so having something that can dry your car without you having to rush is a god send and the finish is just great ... other than that regular waxing maybe every other month is a good idea

1.14 canadian or USD?

If CAD then it is $3.898974154 USD per gallon

IF USD then it is $4.315369452 USD per gallon.

Not even close to the $6.30 figure snobird posted.

yes the auto dry sounds and seems like a rediculous idea until it is actually tried. The point of it is to have the ability to quickly wash your car without the effects of hard water which those of us in places where hard water is a hard fact need something such as this to help. Those in places where hard water is an unknown phenomenon may not see any point in the product though but it wasn't designed for those types of areas. In phx you cant even wash your car in the shade without the soap baking within seconds of being applied.
