.... melt your pistons with a wideband gauge? Seriously?

the controller is what reads the AFR from the sensor and turns it into numbers we can understand. It has nothing to do with changing it.

The gauge displays the numbers that the controller reads from the sensor.

i heard the the exaust gasses could melt the piston heads lol anyway. well then why does a controller come with software and plugs into your laptop and a guage where a guage just comes with a guage

So that you can monitor what the controller is seeing via your laptop.. because it doesn't have a read-out(gauge) show it to you..

So the leaner exautst gasses are what i am scared about at WOT correct thats whet creates major heat is the leaner mix? so a lean number is a lower number on a gauge IE 10.2 is lean 14.3 is rich correct?

I made my own Dual Pass set-up but looking at the instructions for the GM Dual Pass you can buy.

So Widebands are all in one - AEM UEGO..

Some of them sell the controller and the gauge separate - Most Innovate stuff..

I like have thing the gauge to look at so I can make sure the car is staying where it needs to..

The UEGO is probably the cheapest and easiest to install out there.

so your saying you just use the gauge to just make sure you dont run too lean? so what do you have just a guage or a controller too?

Okay.. one more time

The Controller/Gauge.. CANNOT do anything about your Air Fuel ratio.. All either of them do is read it..

I run a gauge, so I can see if for some reason (be it temperature change... be it part failure) my afr's shift... That being said.. I could run a controller with no gauge, and log it with my laptop for the exact same reasons.. They are both just tools to read what your afr is, they can't effect it.

To change what they are, you need a tuning program, such as HPTuners..
