Hahn Intake!

Read up on them and they supposibly have an impressive 29 horsepower gain. Really considering getting one for my 09' rally yellow SS. I have a tune already aswell. Any reasons I shouldn't get it? Or are you impressed with yours?

It runs the best of all the intake mods I have tried. Had the Dejon SRI, Air box mod, AEM CAI and now the Hahn CoolRam.

It did take quite a bit of MAF tuning to get the fuel trims correct though. No compressor surge or DFCO lurch with it now that it's dialed in. The AEM & Dejon were louder also.

Flowing 35 lb/min MAF while fuel trims = 0, 30 VE lb/min on my tune.

I was planning on getting the Hahn cold air but I bought the Dejon short ram because I got it for a steal. I'd so go with it. I think you would have to get tuned again though, right?

Flowing 35 lb/min MAF, no fuel trim offset. 30 VE lb/min on my tune.

when you say maf tuning. your talking about just getting your car tuned in general. or is this something different

This intake flows better than stock and since the Mass Air Flow sensor (MAF) is located in a different diameter pipe than stock, the sensor sees a different reading for the same flow. As diameter increases in a tube, the flow slows down for the same volume passing through it.

The MAF curve needs to be recalibrated with HP tuners or such to reflect this difference to avoid skews in the readings. I spent 12 hours or so logging mine dialing it in but I'm pretty **** about it.

The ECU will compensate to a point and not throw a code unless it is somewhere around 12 - 14% off for a period of time. Hope that helps some.

The Hahn is the best of all the tests I've done, I'm quite pleased with it. They redesigned the breather connection so it locks on just like the stock connection.

Airbox mod with a K&N is a close second for me though, I'll agree.

i like mine but i think it threw a cel...if u guys look at AEM's intake they actualy relocated to the MAF
its much lowere than stock and HAHN's
a represenative from AEM told me the reason was because the temp. and air flow change by the time the MAF reads it...so he told me,thats why they provide a pig tail(extension) for the MAF sensor

Fuel trims were still skewed by the AEM, It's larger in diameter than the Hahn. Buy mine!

Yeah, now it has a threaded adapter that screws on the intake that is a flanged tube for the stock connection to lock onto. I heard about the earlier ones popping off. No issues here at all with it.

It takes at -25 LTFT to trigger a rich code bank 1 and +25 LTFT to trigger a lean code bank 1.

Thanks for the correction, Term. When I did throw a code once, by the time I logged, it was +14.

If the STFT goes +25 or -25 it will also throw a code if it does it more than 3 times I believe. You may have seen the code because of the STFT not the LTFT.
