Im just tired of reading about all of these members going through the winter (snow) while rolling summer tires. Snows are the shit. recklessactn 10-25-2009, 10:22 PM story time? stacy_dammit 10-25-2009, 10:23 PM What about snow tires in the summer in Cali? jsscooby 10-25-2009, 10:32 PM What about snow tires in the summer in Cali? I guess that would be ok. You would just wear out your tires real quick. haha CordiaDOHC 10-25-2009, 10:35 PM Eh I never got stuck 2 winters ago with Michelin PS2 225/45/17s on the front of the eclipse. It slide slightly more than factory Goodyear RSA's but wasnt that bad. Sadly the PS2s do better than the current 235/45/17 Michelin's I got off an 07 Acura TL...... It's about reducing the chances of getting in an accident and killing somebody! :thumbsdow This server sucks! I won't be renewing my premium membership! CordiaDOHC 10-26-2009, 12:23 AM It's not about whether or not you get stuck! It's about reducing the chances of getting in an accident and killing somebody! :thumbsdow This server sucks! I won't be renewing my premium membership! Been driving 12 years with zero accidents (unless you count getting hit at a stop light ) In all honesty some of the summer tires are barely worse than the high performance all seasons. I had zero problem. Its just all about driving safe and knowing the limits of yourself and the car. So you can give me the thumbs down if you wish. But honestly people on snow tires or with 4wd often drive more stupid because they think the vehicle is suddenly so much more capable. Cant tell you the people ive passed who have slid off the road with 4wd or snow tires or tires with snow trains on them while ive passed them in a camaro or mustang with high performance tires on it. slowbalt84 10-26-2009, 12:24 AM i used my stock contis last winter with no problem and will be doing the same. then again this winter i have another car so it's not that bit of a deal lol demento 10-26-2009, 02:18 AM It's just so amazing the number of ( who think they are ) Joe Pro driver's in the snow with summer tires:thumbsdow tREBs 10-26-2009, 02:23 AM I have an STI, I wouldn't imagine driving my summers in winter, just picked up winters last week... Then again I'm sure very few of you have ever experienced a Canadian winter... Edit: just went through the thread again! seems the Canadians are the only advocates for winters! ahha awesome! WhiteFiver 10-26-2009, 02:37 AM Snowies FTMFW! I have taken keys from co-workers before, because they didn't have snow tires. It's complete and utter ignorance. To the person above, who said it's okay, because they know the limits of their cars, FUCK THAT! Knowing your car, and how you can react, means SHIT! What about the other people who DON'T know their car and DON'T know how to react? Or what about that pedestrian that's not paying attention? Or how about they slip off the sidewalk, and into the road? Regardless of the fact that you have been driving 12 years with no accidents, GROW A BRAIN! And for everybody else reading this, there is a reason why Quebec made snow tires Mandatory. They're safer. |
