Anyone here run it? I am looking to run next year for a handful of events. I am so confused on the car classification though... Just wanted to know if anyone did it, so I can ask questions as I think of them.

I have never run any NASA events but after looking at the rules I like it. But, the classing is crazy confusing. I did my own classing based on a stock car and got an adjusted power to weight of 14.6 so that equals TTD BUT futher down the page it says SS/TC is in TTC WTF Guess it's time to run a few NASA HPDE.

I've run MC Hi-Speed AX , MC W2W and NASA TT for many years. The NASA TT rules may appear complicated, at first glance, but it's really not that bad once you start using it.

I can answer any ? about either group. MC run's events in Ill. and NASA is nationwide.

I have a few friends that have been running NASA in the great lakes region with a little success (HA!). Thinking about starting in on the NASA HPDE in the spring and possibly going from there. I've run a few random open track days with my Lightning and had a blast with it. I see NASA assigns the Lightning a base class so I'm not sure if I'll start NASA HPDE with the truck or the Cobalt. Apparently the Lightning's base class (TTE) is full of little under powered cars and the great lakes region tracks tend to be pretty fast tracks so one friend was kind of encouraging that route.

As it appears you'll be starting in HPDE 1 > 2 > 3 > 4 > TT classing isn't an issue. You'll also need a TT license to compete.

Your main concern will be showing up with a car that can run 4 - 5 20 min. sessions a day without mechanical situations coming up that will distract from the Drivers Ed. part of your HPDE weekend.

The NASA Great Lakes Region is a good place to start if it works logistically.

I know this is really far away for most of you but, NASA runs an HPDE at Charlotte motor speedway using almost the entire NASCAR track. Looks very interesting.
