Dejon SRI seems to be the intake of choice so far.

I've had the Dejon SRI, AEM CAI and now the Hahn CAI. All require MAF tuning for proper fuel trims, the AEM always had cold surge issues and DFCO lurching even when dialed in.

I'm tuned for the Hahn CAI and it is the best of the 3.

Cheap alternate is the air box mod & a K&N drop in but even that skews the fuel trims several %.

hold off. CAI seems to be the most hated mod, with aftermarket tunes F'n up a close second and Catback being 3rd when you have springs.

FTW mods......K&N, Sportlines, GMS1, O/R downpipe. Nothing will ever mess up with these mods. They are a "sure bet"

CAI's aren't hated , they just haven't made one that doesn't screw with the maf yet.

Aftermarket tunes a close 2nd to CAI's lol not even remotely true ....... Far more people have aftermarket tunes than have the GM stage kit ...... plus they make more power and are cheaper .

IF you are stock... LEAVE IT ALONE put a K&N drop in and call it a day.

If you are going to tune... Clear Image, and Hahns new intake seem to be the best but still have found the stock airbox to be the best bet!

I have a 2008 stock cobalt ss. I want to get the Hahn intake. Do you think i would be okay with doing so? I eventually want to get the gms1 kit, how will that affect the intake or will i not be able to do that.

The Hahn intake skews the fuel trims ~5% near idle and I've seen 14% or so at WOT. You may or may not throw a CEL with it. I've been told by more knowlegable tuners than I that it takes 25% to throw a CEL.

If you don't want to tune for it, don't buy it. Tuned correctly it is the best of the 4 intake mods I've personally tried. Dejon SRI, AEM CAI, Airbox mod/K&N & the Hahn Coolram.

I have a K&N drop in right now and am pretty happy with that. I did just order a Hahn Coolram though because of all the good feedback on it

Stage one or any other mods are not going to bring the MAF trims in line. You have to recalibrate the MAF tables for it.

You have no codes but if you scanned the car you would find that the MAF is skewed because of the intake which has to be custom tuned out. Intakes can also cause misfires which will not always set a code on these cars. It has to be a major misfire to throw a CEL.

I have a Hahn and have had no problems -- and I recently added a Stage 1 and still have no problems.
