Might as Well Make this my Introduction
Strange this site doesn't have an intro thread...(Edit: Found the Lounge, strange place but i found it. Sorry.) or that the title of this isn't 08-10 TC cobalt...
I just purchased an 2010 Cobalt SS/TC LSD, stage 1 package, power roof, digital gauge, ect ect. All the goodies and what not. Been doing some reading, about the brakes, 3rd gear grinding, ect ect. All cars have their problems, I know this. Is there anything worth noting other then the stickies that I should know about?
Anyways, the names Ashley.
I have
2010 Cobalt SS (TC)
2007 Lotus Exige S (SC)
2006 Mitsubishi Evo IX MR (TC)
One question I do have is should the rear of the car be bouncy? I'm just used to the Evo and Lotus... not bouncy, nothing from those cars. When they bounce the suspension is busted. I'm only asking since I've had the car 2 days, its already had to be warranty fixed twice.... I'm gonna try to go at least one day without having to fix the car.
Glad to be part of the community now btw. Hopefully the SS will eventually be as fun as my Evo. Who knows.

Yeah we need to get this forum organized better. And as far as I know the biggest thing to worry about initially is the rear brakes wearing on ya...if GM addressed it for 2010 remains to be seen.
Welcome, and keep us updated on the condition of your rear rotors!

haha, Pics or ban, I like that. I can post up pictures of my Evo and Lotus later, but no camera for the Cobalt as of now. I'm on the road, I bought it to do some driving with. Cars are just toys.
Yea, the Coupe is still being made. I searched my ass off to find a dealership which was getting one. Their on GM's site as well btw. This is the last year I think though.

I dunno why people think they were cancelling it for 2010 I don't remember anything ever coming out saying that at all. Maybe if the admin would change the title of this subforum it might help.
I guess the question is does it move up and down fairly easily? Like I said the Evo and Exige are SOLID. No bounce. The SS moves pretty easily with my pushing down. Every dealership around me is frankly, retarded. Never seen a car sold by so many that only a couple dealerships even know exists it seems.
I even had a guy at the dealership tell me that my car has a pretty screen on it that tells stuff... although he wasn't sure what anything was... nor was he aware of the stage 1 package...but put it on for me... and ordered incorrect parts for my model... ect ect... retards. I'll have to let you know how my conversation goes with GM on monday when I call to give my review of my first GM vehicle and dealership... with 2 warranty repairs in 2 days.... Maybe SS's can be the new DSM's? It might beat out the SRT-4's who are currently taking the DSM's place in my opinion.

heh, I might need to make a thread "My car is bouncy when pushed on" Thanks for the welcome man. I'll be up in WV here in the next few days for a few weeks, anyone near Parkersburg, Belpre, Vienna, Marietta areas that read this?
Very good taste in cars! Ever get them on a track? Bouncy? doesn't sound right. I think these cars are very well dampened, nothing I would describe as bouncy. Find another tc some where and compare. BTW if you ever decide you wnt to trade your black radio and A/C controls for some SWEET plasticy silver painted ones you let me know!
only reason I wish I had an 2010 I hate this silver plastic!
heh, I'll keep you in mind on the trade. As far as tracking the cars, I more just tune and play with them.(of course the evo goes offroad every once in awhile) I know some people believe "real car enthusiasts run on a track" but I think real car enthusiasts sit around with 12 other car enthusiasts playing video games then run their cars around town after putting a non-tuned turbo on a car to see how it does so they can blow it up. Then of course wonder why... heh.

I'm not going to try and discourage you from keeping your cobalt but seriously welcome to the beginning. I'm not at all a cobalt basher, but I'm truthful and honest.
I'm a pyramid schemer. I give crack to one catholic kid, he then gives it to another. Once their all hooked it just goes up. It was a good investment, all catholic kids have money.
On the side I ride, sell, train, show ect ect ect horses. I'm currently in Conyers, GA, next week I'll be in WV, the week after I'll be in wellington, fl, the week after I'll be in Milton, fl... the week after I'll be, it just goes on. I'm sure we'll get some useful information from running the **** outta this car. Like.. what recalls have to be done every week... Dunno about buying another GM, I think the rear suspension is messed up... I hear a knocking in the front drivers side wheel well.... the bumper has already been adjusted because it was messed up from factory.... bolts were missing out of the door that were replaced.... I'm pretty down on my new purchase.
