Angry Plates, Cops, and Robbers....

So I got pulled over in a 35 MPH zone, not for speeding, but because my totally stock SS does not have a Cali license plate on the front bumper. The guy was a jerk, of course, but that is beside the point. I'm NOT drilling holes in my front bumper for this idiot. How should I go about attaching my front plate so that I can get this fix it ticket signed off?

The robbers part of the title is in regard to my following rant:
I pay PLENTY of taxes in California. I recently paid over $500 to renew my Cobalt's registration. Our taxes are going to 10% in January, and I have had a total of two experiences getting pulled over in this trash state. The first time I was pulled over, I was on a highway going 45MPH and the speed limit was 55MPH. I was in a stock Acura RSX and the cop gave me a ticket for going 10 MPH under the speed limit. He said I was "Impeeding" traffic. I guess I was in his way. I lost that one on the court date as well. Now for my front plate, which is nothing compared to all of the lifted truck that are WELL above 2 feet off of the ground, not to mention all of the Honda Civics that have turbos in them. Why me for the stupid plate? I'm sick of paying taxes so that "law enforcement" can enforce the law on me in such a retarded fashion. Is it simply because of my choice of vehicle? It really pisses me off. My car is stock for a reason. I can't afford tickets all of the time. My Acura was stock for a reason. I drive fairly slow for a reason, yet I still get picked on. I'm so pissed. The guy told me to "Drive Safe" after he had me sign the ticket. I WAS DRIVING SAFE YA DILL SACK!

I'm done.... How should I attach that wonderful plate? Thanks guys....

worst part about it is they are charging you and making u put on a front plate for the potential that they can profit off of photo radar or redlight cameras...

Ya! I pay them to pull me over so that I can be forced to pay them more. They should be arresting the guys that deal drugs on every corner in Victorville!

I didn't think about the Camera thing. Maybe that is why they are cracking down on the front plate thing....

Use that double sided 3m foam adhesive tape.. It doesn't take much. Its the same stuff that they stick vent visors and decals on with.

3m double sticky. works wonders. my back plate only uses 2 screws so the bottem kinda wobbles a bit put the tape and lets just say it was a bitch to kinda get off, so it will work to get the ticket signed off.

I am sure I will get bashed...but hey. If its the law to have a tag on the front of the vehicle, then put one on there. There are so many drug seizes, wanted people, and even terrorists that have been caught on a simple traffic stop. Maryland has the same law, hence why I have a front tag. Not saying its not stupid but it is the law.

they have a cheaper manual one, http://www.corvetteparts.com/details...a&iid=99802901

you can always tell the popo you have it for car shows and last time you had the car on display you forgot to pull it out, lol

my dealer had drilled holes on all the cars in the lot, and this state doesn't require a front plate, then they got pissed when I told them they needed to fix it, they got some plugs painted them to match and put them on the bumper

Just obey the law...just because a dealership sold it without a front plate does not make it legal. There are front plate requirements for a reason.

dude, you got 2 legit tickets, and you're bitching about paying taxes and whatnot lol. If you don't want to have a front plate, that's your choice. But don't complain when you get pulled over, when you flat out know it's illegal. But you wanna hear some **** about that? I bought a car from pa (where there's no front plates) and here in jersey we need them. Took the car to dmv, registered/titled all the bs and got my plates. I got pulled over LEAVING DMV for no front plate lol... told the ******* trooper "but I just registered and got my plates, here's my credit card receipt for like 3 minutes ago, and there's no holes for the plate. I put the back one on in the lot, i'll put the front one on as soon as I get home". his response? "Fight it in court". dick lol.

But still, if you want to choose to not follow the law, then just be prepared to pay the consequences. If it's such a big deal to you, have you tried to do anything about the law?

I got pulled over in Manhattan going into NJ like two weeks ago for the first time in my car. It was an undercover that pulled me over. He asked who the car was registered to and why I didn't have a front plate. I told him I was waiting for the bracket to come in the mail and he let me go. Didn't even ask for my license. Cool of him to let me go but gay of him to even pull me over in the first place. Cops have more important **** to do especially in NYC.

thats extremely stupid that you got a ticket for going 45 in a 55, but some cops are dicks. i have met alot more cops that are nice than cops that are jerks though. then again i dont live in cali lol. my best advice is to try and ghetto rig something to where you won't have to drill into your bumper but make sure that you never drive on the streets without a front plate to avoid being harrassed.

The photo radar and redlight cameras also take a shot at the back plate. In fact most redlight cameras take about 4 different shots. Believe me when i say I know this. However slow down to 15 miles per hour and and you can cruise right through ... if your dying and need to get to the hosptial that is. They are speed sensitive.

It so people can id your car from the front in ANY circumstance.

Don't wanna get into a whole big thing about this, but come on. There's ALWAYS someone worse out there, doesn't mean they shouldn't handle everything. Why get speeders when there's drug dealers? Why get drug dealers when there's pedophiles? Why get pedophiles when there's serial killers? keeps going. Just because people do worse things doesn't mean it's ok.

I know people like to complain about the cops when they get "picked" on, but like I said before if you don't want to foloow the rules, then be prepared to accept the consequences. Don't get me wrong, i'm not preaching, I break rules all the time. But if i know for a fact i'm speeding, and I get caught, I just suck it up and pay the ticket. I'm not pissed at the cop, because i know what i was doing was illegal, however stupid it is. I mean ****, there's a 5 lane low traffic highway by me that the speed limit is 40. The speed limit is higher on the backroads than the highway lol. But the rules is the rules

Not for nothing, but if you were going 45 on the 15 in Victorville, you were probably a threat to other motorists. The flow of traffic on the road tends to run between 65 and 70.

I've known of people getting an "obstructing the flow" ticket for going 55 in a 55. These incidents usually involve driving in the fast lane while doing it. The speed and volume of traffic is So Cal is such that you can be real threat to others if you drive like that.

If you do a search there was a post on here where they used the stock plate holder and attached large suction cups to it. It would come off and go back on, it looked like it worked good for a temporary plate mount.

I swear to god I would have just told him "You are a dick". Or "Whats wrong? Just find out your wife is cheating on you?"

I agree with those tickets 500%. Slow ************* in the passing lane need to die.
