You need a laptop and lots of knowledge, otherwise, bad stuff can happen. Read up on engine tuning and how all the components work together. Then, baby steps only, you can tune your own car using HPT

If the blower does blow, can you change everything back to stock and get it repaired under warranty?

Good lord! Good luck man, do us all proud and his some mid 12's! How did she feel w/ the tuning done? I was talking to Jmc and he said he's pretty sure we could see a good bump in power just from tuning alone.

Good luck Rob!

I will say though... That once you get into HP Tuners and tuning, ect. ect. ect.... This is where alot of the tuning of the Cobalt SS will differ from person to person. I mean, hell.. If you can't tune, you'll never be able to go further than HP Tuning.. Damn it's got so much promise, I can't wait to start messing with it.

Well unfortunately i got rained out tonight!

I did do a run from 25mph to 85mph and logged it. Looks and feels incredible!! The 1-2 shift is unreal, 7100 ALL THE WAY DOWN TO 3890!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YIKES!!!

Bumped the timing up to 18degrees as well. Can't wait to get to the track! She feels like easy mid 12's!!!

For those of you w/HPT's, i'll send you the log file if you want to view it.

That sucks about the rainout. No kr with 18 degrees? What were your IAT2 temps? Also, what was your IDC and IPW? I'm sure there's plenty of fuel, I'm just curious. That should be 19-20lbs of boost, right? Maybe I better just call you.....

Hey Rob, I'd like to see a copy of that log file. Its good to hear of no issues with an advancement like that in timing. I can't wait to get those 60# injectors!!!

At 7100 rpm i had 80% Duty Cycle, 12.0 commanded AFR, 12.1-12.3 on the wideband, 18.6lbs of boost.

My timing was rock steady as well as the AFR for the entire pull from 25 to 87mph.

Not bad for 10 mins worth of tuning

I want to work on the everyday driving habits now. I don't like the timing dropping to single digits after the shifts.

Only 10 minutes.....
Give Rob a week of tuning and he will have the first 11sec street driven cobalt

Were all taking notes and following in your footsteps...

Thanks for being the pioneer in all this.

My prediction is up to 307 whp with the more timing you will be able to add on pump gas. Also it would be interesting if you get your air filter and plugs replaced ).
