How do i tell if a car is suppercharged or turbo ???? Since the make a apperance model i am looking to buy one just to play with ??? Like pic of the engine compartment with and with out one ??? And like a vin id number that says yes it is ?? Thanks casey
Hahaha.
If your Cobalt SS has the "plastic" cover over it, then it has neither a supercharger or turbocharger and is the base SS model. Feel free to take off said plastic cover for style points.

In the first picture, that is the engine bay of a 08+ Cobalt SS. All of them are turbocharged no matter what. The black plastic box is the intake box and as you can see, the runs back and down to where the turbo is located back there.
In the second picture, that is the engine bay of a 05-07 Cobalt SS Supercharged. The supercharger is located on the front of the engine, so it's very hard to miss (even with the engine aesthetics on). They also made a Cobalt SS naturally aspirated version during those years, and it won't have that supercharger right there on the front.

no offense, but you have a turbo ls1 and couldn't tell the difference between a supercharged/turbocharged/naturally aspirated cobalt?
