speeding tickets

so these past three months I have gotten pulled over 5 times and gotten 4 tickets. Ive never been more than 10 over each time. Im starting to think its the way my car looks which is causing the cops to pick me out of everybody that are going the exact same speed. its starting to really **** me off. ive been wanting to get my car painted black and maybe its the time. I dont want you guys to think im some punk that speeds everywhere, cause im not. But this is getting a little out of hand. anyway, how much does a good paint job cost?

So you have been pulled over 5 times for speeding but you do not speed

if he's going with the flow of traffic then he's being picked out. if he's passing people then tickets are deserved, even though 10 over is common its still speeding.

i know what your saying. i lived in my town for two years and was never pulled over, and then i moved to knoxville, a much bigger city, and thats when this started. and 631, i agree with you thats another reason i want a paint job. ive gotten tired of the stripes

Instead of a new paint job, it might be worth it to invest in a good radar detector then if you feel you're getting singled out. It's way cheaper than paint. IMHO

I've gotten two in the past month with a black 09 turbo on hwy 94. Of course i was legitimately speeding. Really sucks now that I'm only two points away from losing my license and i have to drive like a grandma everywhere now for the next year- that's the worst part about it.

cops response to your accusation would be

"you ever go fishing?.... well, you can't catch them all."

if you have a high rise swap for a low rise. stay out of the left lane and use your cruise control and set it for 5 over max

LOL!!!! Yup!!! As soon as I bought my car I got pulled over twice in one month(going barely 5 over speed limit DOWN HILL!!) I used to Always speed in my old car and NEVER got pulled over. Now I have to coast with CC on just to keep em off my ass.

To the people who say "try going speed limit". Give me a break. Your going to tell me in all the years of driving you have NEVER disobeyed a single street law. People speed by accident for god sakes.

And BTW 2nd spot I got pulled over at was a speed trap at the bottom of a bridge. While I was getting pulled over(cop with lights on behind me) A truck flew past my right side(slow lane).

Its the price you pay for even "looking fast" like me =) At leased you got out of ONE ticked. Wish we were all that lucky

Radar detectors are double edged swords... cops can detect that you have a radar detector, and a lot of them will use that as an excuse to pull you over, if not for speeding then they'll find something else. Just slow down and don't give them a reason...

BTW, i think your ride looks awesome, and it probably isn't helping matters (who do you think they would pull over, a rusted old beater or his car?)

personally if i were a cop i would pull over a rusted old beater as they are more likely to be polluting or have things wrong with them that could potentially cause an accident and hurt people then newer cars.

I'm sorry... that car does scream "boy racer".

Take the high-rise wing off. With the wing off the cops won't bother you nearly as much.

Also, lose the stripes and paint the wheels back some "normal" color.

The red is fine... but the rest makes you stick out like a sore thumb.

Move to Michigan. You'll have a hard time getting pulled over on the Interstate for anything under 80. j/k

Don't de-mod your car because you think that's why you're getting pulled over. Just go no more then 5 over. If it bothers you this much write a letter to the sheriff describing the incidents and how dis-pleased you are. Writing a letter goes a long way.

Funny you say that
My brother used to have a rusty old S10 Beater,
and the cops messed with him all the time about it.
Pulling him over for this and that. Once they even
impounded his truck when he was LEAGALLY parked
for about 2 hours at a friends house.
