It is a Pontiac Pursuit with the new steering wheel and radio, just like the Cobalt! I thought they said they were doing something different. Nice GM! At least there is no supercharged model.

What would be so bad about a supercharged model?

it has a different grill and taillights, check thread under 2.4 performance and it sounds like when they release the g5 gt in the states they are going to have a Sc or turbo for it but thats open for debate

its a 2007 pontiac persuit.

the only signifigance I can see for this car (rebadging) is that its going to be sold in the states.

its a sunfire to the cavalier type deal.

Wow! Next thing you know, people will actually own one! LOL.

G5 has been available in Canada for two years now.

Don't take the first sentence seriously.

You would think that with imports gaining market share, the guys at GM would try to be a little more creative. It looks like they got a bit lazy; what were they thinking? At least give the G5 different headlights or something!

Has GM learned nothing?
This is the 1980's being played out all over again.

It's a nice looking car, but echoes of the j-body are reverberating.

Looks like they havent learned, theres pretty much nothing setting the cars apart other than like 2-3 hp differences in the engines and nav as an option.

The only thing GM did that was stupid was not offer a Pursuit in 2005. They intended for people to start as a Pontiac owner in the Vibe or G6. That has not worked out and Pontiac needs a small car right away which is why we have a very similar G5.

10When the Cobalt/Pursuit is refreshed for 2008my, I suspect each will have a more distinct look.

Me too. At least the Cavalier and Sunfire had some sheetmetal differentiation. The G5 just gets Cobalt sedan taillights and a tack on grille. It's disappointing. This could have been a cool car for Pontiac with some effort. From what I understsand, Pontiac corporate said they didn't need an entry level car - but their dealers disagreed.

Actually the release dates on the cobalt/pursuit, shows that it came out a month earlier in Canada than the cobalt did in the U.S. so who is coping who

Yeah Cobalt Retooled for pontiac, I bet the 2007 cobalts have the same engine specs though.

I guess GM decided they had enough of the cobalt's bugs worked out to start spreading the love around. hehe
