Speed220 04-17-2005, 01:49 AM Hi Everyone,
Just found this supercharger kit for the 2.2L at RSM. Just search under Cobalt.

Florida 76 04-17-2005, 04:53 AM $3,500 ouch :(
______________
Datwhitecavy 04-18-2005, 09:09 PM I was just about to mention this kit.. YOu could by the base Cobalt, get this stage 1 kit or the stage to and be right up there with the SS as far as HP.. Stage 2 bumps it up to 85 more HP.. ;)
PenguinPIE 04-18-2005, 09:47 PM is there any easier and cheaper way to gain hp??......im looking at around 20hp maybe....

Id say header\cat-back\air intake with K&N filter\ and pullies when they become available.. You could always use a 50 shot of NOS lol :)
RockTheSVT 04-20-2005, 03:35 AM 20 horsepower shot of nitrous would do the trick ;)
Haha, yeah but seriously. The previously mentioned bolt ons would definetly do the trick, those would get in the area of 20hp I'd say.
dnbguy86 04-30-2005, 12:39 AM Damn, with that setup on there, youd possibly run a low 15 to a high 14, and thats with an auto sedan. things are lookin very good for the cobalt tuners...

yea buy a power programmer, get better headers,or NOS but that messes up your cylinder heads after awhile
Speed Mafia 05-05-2005, 02:45 PM i know a shop that sells a procharger kit for the 2.2L ecotec? basic kit is 2700$
chevyman06 09-26-2005, 03:09 PM ok so were talkin super chargers whats the hp gain on a new muffler and intake someone told me 20 hp is that true and can you run a straight pipe from the engine back with a cat or will it mess with the computer on emmissions
chevyman06 09-26-2005, 03:10 PM sorry guy with out a cat is what i ment to say
RedCobaltSS06 09-26-2005, 03:50 PM Thats a lot of power.... anything mentioned for the 2.4?

Running without the cat will mess up the computer unless you run an O2 simulator in place of the rear O2 sensor. Also you run the risk of not passing emissions testing in your area, that is if you have it in your area.
tmade 09-27-2005, 09:17 AM Thats a lot of power.... anything mentioned for the 2.4?
I wouldn't think you'll see anything for the 2.4 for a little while, since it's a new engine for the cobalt. The 2.2 has been around a while and only minor changes in the last couple of years, but as the 2.4 is out for a while stuff will be out for it....I'd say you'll see intakes popping up first.
RedBaseBolt 09-27-2005, 02:56 PM I've never really been impressed with RSM.. I think they are over priced and impractical. thats just my opinion though.
RedCobaltSS06 09-27-2005, 03:20 PM tmade, i am guessing you are right. the 2.4 vvt is fairly new, so maybe in the next months or maybe even at SEMA, some stuff will start to creep out for it

daniel's LT has just a muffler no cat back, weapon r short ram and ZEX 50 shot of dry shot nitrous and he runs 15.1 w/ a stick

Not to be rude but do I really need to make a comment about the Parts guy telling you what will and won't work?

actually... now ur cooking with fire....." sm6"........ how hard would somthing like that be to do... just wondering... lol
Sw4y1313 07-20-2007, 01:34 AM The smt6 is a great unit, and easy to tune, but i would recommend the AEM FIC. the ability to use larger injectors is what i like the most. check out the tuning section on it. AEM Fuel/Ignition Controller. It has already been tested by AEM on the cobalts.

I agree. I'd use the AEM FIC too.
Sw4y1313 07-20-2007, 12:23 PM Let me know if you need any assistance in wiring it. Im coming up with a PnP piece for it. I can also get the FIC in for cheaper then any price listed online. Shipping is usually 20 bux or less too. I may have myself the FIC here in 2 weeks, depending on if SCT updates their software to support the e16a. I would recommend getting it wired and running on your car with larger injectors in first. Then you install the SC and tune by Load(MAP Sensor) and RPM. Quite simple after reading as much as i did into it =P
