redline almost got beat by a tibron
it was a new v6 but I saw the motor on the redline he is a friend of mine .that is what I thought when I saw them raceing. He just got the car and is still learning how to shift or something. we will see this weekend cause they will run again...
Yeah that makes no sense unless the guy in the redline was drinkin a coffe and talkin on his cell phone while he went. Even the GT Tiburon doesnt match up
Tiburon-
2.7L DOHC 24-valve V6 engine
Aluminum cylinder block and heads
Electronically controlled fuel injection
172 hp @ 6,000 rpm
181 lb-ft. @ 3,800 rpm
Ion Redline-
2.0-liter, supercharged and intercooled Ecotec engine
205 hp, 200 ft. lbs. of torque
PLUS NITROUS?
Makes no sense, my friend is a salesman at hyundai and even he said whoever was drivin the ION messed up.
Basically thats a classic story of a bad driver

I believe it. The quarters are not too far off, I know an ION Red line can do better in 1/4 then what's posted but so can the tibby. These specs are just that, specs and reviews when someone drove it once or twice.. The Tibby will have better top end w/an extra gear (six speed).
if the redline had a 50 shot then the tibby should have been toasted. sure you didn't hear some other noise that wasn't a NOS shot?

Just so you guys know......
I've handed quite a few tibby's their ass out on the street with my RL. All I have is the exhaust upgraded entirley to 2.5", a magnaflow racing muffler and have removed my airbox.
If the RL indeed had a 50 shot and the tib was stock, then homeboy needs to learn to f'n drive. He should have whooped that ass pretty good.

My friend has a tibby with everything you can imagine on it, custom cams, custom headers, CAI, full 2.5 inch exhaust, ingintion, standalone ecu, lightweight rims, full suspension, nitto drag radials, lsd and pully. With all of that he is only barely breaking into the 13's can't remeber the exact time though.
Hmmm... that's not what I want to hear... pick up a new Cobalt and get my ass handed to me by a Hyundai!!
Check out the Torque stats. What do you guys think... how much torque would the Cobalt have at 3800... i'm guessing far less. If this guy managed to get himself any more horsepower with mods, and knows how to use his 6-speed properly, I can see it. Crap... GM had better release some warranty covered performance upgrades quick.

I think the Tiburon looks good. It has nice styling, I would trade it for the '99 Tiburon FX I have now anyday...for free at least. I wouldn't pay more for that thing, that's why I'm buying an SS S/C =D.
yup I am thinking of trading in my 97 altima that is fully modded for a cobalt ss/sc. I have the day off from work due to bad weather and mite go test drive today.only thing is to do that I have to drive 24 miles...
i used to own a tiburon v6
and it got a best of 15.7 with an auto with I/H/E, a guy i know pulled a 14.5 stipped down to all hell with a curb weight WAY less than stock, and he's a good driver. you'd really have to suck with the redline, or the tiburon must be a REALLY good driver to beat him.

Oh BTW, someone here was worried that a Cobalt SS will lose to one. It wont. The Cobalt is lighter than the RL.
