I'm from Bloomington/Normal and i've only seen a few balts around town, and of them only 1 SS/SC.

My wife works at the Sam's club in Bloomington - she sometimes drives my balt when I am driving something else and she is not in her vette.

I've had some bad experiences with XI, When i had my grand prix they got pissed at my club and then played around racing us. But anyways we need a real Cobalt club.

As far as stuff done to my car not much yet, i need to get my lowering springs installed, hopefully this next weekend!

I am here too. I live in Washington. I just picked up my Silver SS/SC with G85 last Wed from Bob Grimm in Morton, they had to bring it down from WI. I sort of feel screwed that they didn't tell me about the 0% financing. But I am trying to get that taken care of and it is completely unrelated. But anyways, I would definitely be interested in a meet. I have been trying to find a dragstrip in the area. The closest I have heard about is in Cordova, me and a buddy at work with an SRT4 want to go. Something during the week would work best for me.

Havana has a nice 1/8 mile track - but it does have about a half mile gravel road leading into it so I have never taken the vette down there.

Congrats on the SS - I bought mine at Grimm too! They are fair and decent people in my experience.

I am out of town (I am in lower Manhattan in my hotel room typing this message....) on business, so I cannot see this weekend - but when the vette crew wants to go up to Rt 66 (Joliet) for some 1/4 mile fun, I'll post it here.

In the meantime - lemme know if you want to come out and put your car up on my lift just to check it out underneath etc - consider it an open invitation!

I went to Iowa for the weekend and just got back, made me hate dirt roads up there. My washing sponge is black now.

What is wrong with the hood?? What dealership? I get more and more scared everyday about taking my car in for a repair. I am taking it to Jim McComb tomorrow, luckily my good friend at works neighbor is the service manager there, hopefully that will get me some preferential treatment.

I got mine from Rebbec's in El Paso. They made me a great deal, paid of my Grand Prix that had a pretty bad oil leak and needed some work. (4K they paid off on it)

The guy who sold it to me was awesome and still helps me out when I stop in, the service staff is a joke though.

The thing thats wrong with my hood is the drivers side by the hinge is jacked up around 1/2" and it causes the hood down by the latch to be somewhat flimsey. They blamed it on improper jacking of the vehicle and would not cover it. Looking at what they told me I say their full of shit. But now i'm stuck with it because i'm just a poor college kid that has a habit of buying things for the car, haha

What type of performance mods do you guys have on your SS/SC's?? I am looking into getting an exhaust and Stage 2, I was wondering if anyone had anything done to theres. All I have is DC strut bar and an Ingalls ETD.

All i have is the strut bar and springs waiting to be put on.

Dosent sound Like a bad idea. And i'm transfering to the Sears Auto Center in Peoria. The 8th is my first day, i gave myself a day off after the Brickyard since i have Start/Finish line tickets.

That would be cool to get a statewide club. I could be the West Central Illinois President. Well I am the only person around here with a Cobalt or even a cool car for that matter so I guess I would have no choice. lol I could try and recruit my cute neighbor who has a non SS/SC coupe. She is engaged though and is gone at school most of the time.

They wont fit they are a 4 lug, plus you will need new tires all the way around

They will fit, i only have a base so i have the 4X100 bolt pattern. I'm not special and have an SS like everyone else.

And he told me about the tires, but i need rims!

rally - I was actually at Kay's today. They were really nice. I am getting a custom band made that the wedding ring slides into the middle of. So far both Kay's and Brinkley (a shop in Morton) have both thought that it was a really neat idea and are excited about working with me.

Glad you guys had a nice get together. Once the election is over I may try and sneak up there sometime when you all get together. Peoria is only a couple hours for me I think.

i am a moline il cobalt LS blue i am trying to get more people to join my myspace cobalts and cavilers club just to get more people around so that way we could have like a little drive and a meeting spot to get to know other cobalt drivers .....there are a bunch running around up here and i know most of them have be bought from where i work LUJACKS North park auto plaza but it seems like if you try to get anyone together its hard......

I wouldn't be too worried about that. Unless you are driving through knee high puddles you should be fine. I took out my air box last week and there water sitting in it. The SS gets it air right from under the driver side headlight, right were there is a gap in the body work. BTW, I ordered a AEM Dryflow from Winner's Circle and it should be in sometime this week.

Tuesdays work for me too, I got them done at Wizard Window Tint, in Peoria. $115 for the back three at 5% and the front two at 35% with lifetime warranty on tint, and 1yr on labor. It only took them about and hour would highly recommend them....

I'm also wanting to get a new muffler on my car, the stock one I always hit or rub on sidewalks or parking blocks when I park, its eventually going to wear a hole in it. So that looks like my next "mod"
