Solid color rotors - do they exist ?

Has anyone ever seen any rotors that are a solid color (all the way through) for the Cobalt SS/SC ? Blue for preference.

Like these - http://optionsauto.com/prodinfo.asp?number=PPG-8256D

But blue, and the color is the metal itself, not a coating or polish.

there is NO WAY to make the rotor itself "colored". Sure you can anodize it or plate it....but as soon as the pads start making contact it will wear away the color.....sorry to brake it to you.

Yup. It'd be a waste of time and paint.

i'm assuming that's why he's asking if there are any that are a solid color all the way through. like the metal being blue all the way through. that would look cool, but sounds expensive and rare.

You'd be pretty hard pressed to find a metal that's both the right color and as durable as needed to be used as a rotor. Cool as it would be, you said it best yourself: expensive and rare.

The only way to get what you are looking for is to get ether a Ceramic rotor anr a C/F rotor.
Your looking at about 5K ether way.
The ones in your link are coated and it will come of where the pads contact. But thats the only place it should come off at.

Just develop a pigment that will retain it's color at 3,000 degrees and mix it with the iron at the foundry. Or if you want orange rotors just hose them off and wait a couple of hours

For a show car though you could put colored LEDs on the inside of the wheels, it'd definitely change the look of the rotors.
