better than a lot of OEM wheels.
i like gunmetal with a polished lip though.

 

I actually like the Matte Black or darker color rims. Here's a nice 18' I found on TireRack.com's website.



What color Cobalt SS would this Rim work best with?

Those black rims are wicked. I think they would look good on yellow, but that's just me. Those rims up top are ugly...

 

I guess I'm in the minority because I really like the 16" rims. They remind me of a spider.

when looking up the wheels on tirerack.com

it doesnt show the cobalt SS just the ls lt and cobalt

meaning, im guessing alot of those wheels will not fit on the SS

and, the coupe vs the cobalt SS is that the coupe is 4 bolt and the SS is 5 bolt

 

you guys can drool over wheels all day - unfortunately the cobalt is fucked with a 5 X 110 pattern which has next to nothing for aftermarket support.

 

That chrome grille is gonna be niiiice

 

Actually thats a good thing... everything becomes more exclusive and it becomes a hotter car to have. thats how cars blow up into a must have car the first year or so they have to be a hard to get awesome stand out car.

Just my opinion... and btw if you spend money to take off the stock 18's off the bat your crazy...

 

I like the stock 18's because they are SO easy to clean. My Xtreme wheels sucked with all the little tight spots where the dirty would gather.

 

In addition to my soon to be in my driveway Cobalt I have an 87 Alfa Romeo Milano. Have you ever heard of an Alfa? Yah, there are very very few of them in the United States. No dealer network (pulled out 10 years ago), finding parts is a mess, etc. But back to wheels, the Alfa has a 5 x 98 bolt pattern and there are plenty of options available.

In fact, you can get adapter made that will convert a 5 x 100 wheel or 5 x 114.3 (i think thats it) to a 5 x 98. Not that hard...

 

I think if there are too few Aftermarket Wheel options for the Cobalt, then I will start manufacturing them and make a fortune, as somebody has too.

Tire Rack doesn't have the image of the Cobalt, don't know why, but they do list the Wheels that are compatible and although the selection is light, I saw some nice stuff.

The Factory 18"s on the Cobalt SS indeed are pretty nice though!!

 

That is 50% of the reason why I will never get rid of the stock wheels

 

I think the best option, unless the aftermarket wheel companies start stepping up, is to have the hubs & rotors redrilled for either the 5 on 100 or 5 on 114.3 pattern.

I'd bet that in most places you could find a machine shop to do it for a reasonable price.

The stock 18's are pretty enough. I couldn't believe it when I found that Chevy was putting 18's STOCK on a subcompact. A few years ago I remember marvelling at the 18's on the new C5!

 

A nice dry cloth and my 16's come out nice and clean and Shiny ))

 

For what though.... If you dont like the wheels on a brand new car why did you buy it... waste of money
