NGalaxyTimmyo Pulley Swap Thread (56k = NO)
Before I begin I would like to say a special thanks goes out to the following people who made this happen for Tim. His 2.9 screams like no other.
*AH1Cobra for the Pulley Puller
*Billetflow for the 2.9 Inch Pulley
*06Black for his time spent with the install
*Myself (Sneaky) for providing the garage, some of the tools and picture taking
Picture quality isn't the greatest (Camera Phone) and we started this job at almost 11:30pm so we didn't finish till about 1:30am. Fatigue set in and we were all anxious to get this job done!
So before we went to my dad's to do this midnight install we went to grab a bite to eat at Burger King. Ahh nothing like a mini cobalt meet. We stole a burger king crown as you will see why it's important in the quick write up and tutorial.

Ok, now enough with that lets get down to business. I moved my golf cart and some other non-essentials and had Tim pull up.

Bryan and Tim working on getting all the necessary lines and bolt taken off to pull the blower off.

Some semi closer shots of the work being performed. let me tell you, there is a lot of lines and electrical connections.

After about the first half hour of putzing around we got the blower off, YES! Tim is the king! Remember not to snag that coolant hose. It makes a big mess...

Bryan doing a pose for a shot after taking the blower off. It's good to be the king!

Where did the blower go?
Dare you to start the car this way!

Couple of goof off shots of Bryan taking a break after removing the blower

Now it's time to get to work. We are holding the blower just to show you how big it really is.

After a lengthly 15 minute break we all decided to start getting that old crap 3.4/3.5 inch stocker off.

Using the pulley puller to remove it we got from AH1Cobra, only remove the pulley a little bit at a time so no damage is caused, a special washer is used to make sure this doesn't happen. We learned that a special popping noise is suppose to happen. When it did we were all shitting our pants let me tell you that

After about 10 minutes of playing around we got the old stock pulley off the supercharger.

Guess we won't be needing this **** box anymore...

Here is our new beautiful 2.9 Billet flow pulley. It's light years ahead of the competition

Here is a comparision shot with them sitting next to each other.

Interesting DIC shots I seen while playing with the radio.

We borrowed some of our used grease from the old pulley and relubed the shaft and now it's time to install the new pulley!
Here is Bryan getting to work on installing the new 2.9

New 2.9 in pulley installed

Now that the supercharger is complete it's time to install our larger idler pulley to take up the slack.. But what we found was we need to grind the **** out of the new one on one side so there was no rubbing.
Here is a picture of the old idler. POS!

Nothing that a craftsman 8k RPM Diamond Bench Grinder can't take care of
Custom fabbing time!

Time to press on the new idler and take pictures

Yea, I've done everything myself and or with help so far. Intake, Cat back, Mounts, and now pulley. It's a great learning experience, and once again, thanks everyone for the help. There is no way I would have been able to do all that myself now that it's over. Oh, and Mike, let me know when you get that pulley. I'll be more then happy to pay you back.
Oh, and the thing runs like a fricken champ.

Same here. I've done my catback, intake, and mounts, and now helped with my pulley. Always helps to have an extra set of hands as we found out when we were taking the old pulley off.
