Would you buy a Cobalt all over again?

Hey everyone, I am pretty new to this forum, as you can tell. I don't currently have a Cobalt yet for a few different reasons... First, I don't like to just jump into a decision. Second, I am debating if I would like to purchase an 06 or wait and order an 07 instead. Third, I am still not sure if I should trade my truck in or keep it and use the money that I will save in gas per month (about $80 every 3-4 days) and use that to pay the loan (I also have a nice down payment saved up). I would get rid of the truck quicker if I didn't use it as a truck at least 2-3 times a week either towing my or another friend's motorcycle, or using it for anything else that a truck was meant for instead of just as another family vehicle. Sorry for venting a little bit

My question to you guys is: if you could do it all over again would you buy another Cobalt, especially the SS/SC. This is the model I am looking at. I'm just not sure if I would end up regretting my purchase for the reason that I am reading about the same problems from many of you time and time again. I just really dig this car (it's the first sport coup that I have ever been attracted to). Anyhow, any words of wisdom would be appreciated.

I absolutely would do it again. The SS/SC is the fastest 2-door under 21K. You can't beat that. The aftermarket is getting better and better. You get a lot of car for the price.

1.....2.....3......

DO IT!

if i could get it for the same price i paid for it 19.5 then hell yes. I seen this car as a prototype that day I told my best friend if this comes out I am buying it. When I did I was happier than a pig n ****.... it has a few flaws but I knew it would being a first production vehicle n all but I can tell you this...

When she is shined up and I am cruisin around it gets a **** load of looks...

Nope. I would buy either a solstice, used 02 camaro/firebird. Or some other used 03ish impala. I would have saved so much money...

Or had nice covertable.

But I do like my car.

I would by the car again in a heart beat but as for the customer service, service department, salesman, and so on....I would leave them behind in a heart beat. I think that's the reason GM is doing so poorly....not because of the cars, but because of the people that work for them...but that's a whole 'nother story on it's own....

I'd prolly buy a new F150.

If I was gonna buy a Cobalt it would be a 4door SS.

Well, see I already have a nice Dodge Ram that is my daily driver and a 1969 Dodge Charger that I am restoring, so I'm not interested in either another truck or another V8 car. I want something that isn't only fun to drive, but that I don't have to cry every time I pull up to the gas station. As far as a Solstice, RSX, or a GTI, I am about 5'9" and around 295-305. I don't fit in them as well as I fit in a Cobalt. The Cobalt just seems to be the best all around car for someone of my size, needs, and wants.

Sure you did...just like Homer bought Marge a bowling ball, right?

I'm enjoying this car a lot right now. When it comes down to it, my buying another one depends on whether or not I still want this type of car, or something more on the gentle side. (I hope that's an easy decision when the time comes!) The car has been everything it's advertised for me.

If I had to do it OVER again, absolutely, I love my car. Its just got so many toys at a $20K price (and I don't have the dreaded 105MPH fuel cut-off!)

If I had to buy a car today, I honestly don't know, I haven't shopped.

I want to get a used Tahoe, like around a year 2000 model.

YES, with no second thoughts at all

I Love my SS\SC and I will buy another one before the model run is over. I am looking at likely 08 or 09 model year. Once this one is completed I will likely mainly race\show it and use the other as my daily driver.

Read my post about reliability here : https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/general-cobalt-68/new-purchase-22158/

And if all goes well I'll be buying a Cobalt SS for myself around christmas time, we just bought the wife her LS in Febuary. What does that tell you?
