Well I kinda let the stage kit get on the backburner since I had a few other things on the go.
But now I'd like to pick up a stage II within the next week or two, and am seeing people that already have it or have ordered it online from the U.S. Also that the price dropped to $960 can. for the stage II.
So where (preferrably in the GTA area) do we have confirmed stock w' price? Those that have it, where did you get it from?

I paid $740 shipped to niagara falls NY..... all you pay is 15% TAX at the border which is $851CAN

I think it would be well worth the $30 gas and the $3 border fee.

He works for the above dealer and he responded to all calls fast. I ordered it Wednesday afternoon and it was in Niagara falls ny at my post office box by friday at 10am.
It was $640 shipped, but i payed $15 extra for rush shipping. Total on my visa was $740 CANADIAN

I get everything i order from the US shipped there....its 2 mins from the rainbow bridge on the US side


they allow you to ship to them for $5 US....you put your name on top with their address, but you have to call them to let them know you are expecting a package

If I purchase it in the U.S (most likely as the price difference is massive) I am driving over the border to pick it up in niagra and taking back with me. No I am not declaring it...the SS has many hiding places

 

UPS charges a $25.00 brokerage (i.e.duty) plus GST/PST on the CAD equiv. declared value on the pkg. So in my case, for Stage 1, I paid $445 USD shipped from CED = $489 CAD plus $127.36 (brokerage fee/GST/PST) = $616 CAD

The american deal is still the best IMO. Shipped from CED to a depot in Niagra is $657 usd, which converts to $737 can. Factor in gas.....hmm.
Well it's pretty close . Seriously, can this deal still be had?

I am going to Golden Mile this week or next weekend..

I figure.. Ok.. You get the kit from CED... By the time you convert the kit and stuff its about a $300 savings from what buddy at Golden Mile will sell for.. Then if you get it shipped here then it's an extra money for duty. So no longer a $300 savings.. You bring it over illegal and they search ur car then ur screwed.. But if you drive down then the fuel would probably be somewhere around $50-60 there and back...

Now my other thing is.. If you bring a kit in from the US dealer.. And have a Canadian Dealer install it.. They could give you hassles about it if anything goes wrong.. I don't feel like having that happen for the sake of $200-$300 savings.. It happened with a Bluetooth for my phone.. I got it direct from China but then it had a problem and the Canadian Motorola wouldn't warrenty the China Motorola even tho that is where they are built..

Golden Mile is doing the install for $1386 or something like that.. That's taxes and everything.. Which to me is awesome and I don't mind paying that.

 

These aren't Chinese cellphone accessories...All stage kits come from the U.S. You buy it up here, it originated in the us. they are one and the same.
How are you screwed if you get searched? worse case you have to pay the duty. These aren't drugs, you are not going to jail for it
Suit yourself, I agree that if it's less a pain in the ass, it might me worth the $$ though.

 

you all have valid points, but being so close to the US border the $990 installed GM 2 kit from the US was well worth it. I called GM and my dealer before hand and they did not care where the kit came from, as long as it was a GM kit with all the valid paperwork!!

$1386 installed is a good no hastle price tho !!
