sunroof...

Is the sunroof supposed to go all the way back when open and line up with the shade when its pulled back or does it stop about 2"-3" from where the shade ends up at? I can't remember but can anyone help me? I had a problem with the roof after delivery and the shop I took it to said it came from the factory with a extra screw in it... Go figure. Anyway someone help me so I can get this fixed...

Not totally sure on the SS S/C(STILL waiting of course), but my '03 Z24 sunroof stops a couple of inches past the shade(when looking in from the top you can see the shade). An extra screw, though . WEIRD! Better than missing one i guess. GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR CAR.

I have the shade fully pulled back, and my sunroof stops about 2 or three inches from the shade. When I retract the roof, I hear the roof actually stop, but I can't remember if it was originally like this when I took delivery. I think I'll just stop by the shop this weekend and see what they say....

Yep my sunroof stops about 2-3 inches short too. Which is incidently just before it starts to cover the XM antenna.

Thanks, zinner. It's strange because someone has a pic posted (red SS) with the roof ALL the way back. Just wanted to make sure it's not a factory f-up.

yeah there are lots of pictures of the pre production SS/SC's that are slightly different than the actual production.

Zinner, did you mean about 2-3" from the edge of your sunroof to your XM antenna? Mine is 3". Seems my sunroof doesn't open like it should either. The opening measures 8". Seems a bit short to me. Seems it should be open more. My sunroof doesn't cover my XM like I see other photos on our gallery. But, the good news is my Ss/SC arrived today! FREAKING NICE!!!!!!!!! I won't post pics until its detailed.

Ok I measured.

With the sunroof all the way back it is 2.5 inches from the roof to the sunroof and the edge of the sunroof is just about to cover the XM antenna (there is no overlap it's just perfect)

Mine is about 6" from the XM Antenna. Or maybe my antenna is installed further back. I'm going to the dealer this weekend to look at others. I'll measure their's. The opening from inside the car is only 8". Just seems really small. Thanks for checking. DId you see the other gallery photo (kid going to prom) w/the blue SS/SC and his sunroof DOES cover his antenna.

So if you don't have XM radio, the roof still retracts as if the antenna was there. OK. I guess down the road if I want XM, I wouldn't have to worry about the roof hitting the antenna. Thanks, ladies and gents...
