Intake Help!
Intake Help!
Ok i have heard of all kinds of different intakes out there but which one would you all say is the best for a 2.4L. Any advice/suggestions/opinions would be appreciated thankyou.
There really is no best as far as intakes and with most performance parts.
It's all about personal preference. An intake is an intake basically. Especially a part like an intake, gains are so minimal that the power difference is very little if any.
Basically, pick one that's a reasonable price and call it a day.

As far as performance gains though, there's not much difference. You pay for quality and functionality really.

I've only ever had one CEL thrown, and that was when I was autocrossing and really running the engine hard. The Injen also has the capability to switch between a CAI and a SRI. That's nice, especially if you live in an area where you get a decent amount of water on the roadways in spring.

So you would go with a Ingen CAI ?
If I were going to put an intake on my car (don't get excited just yet Dan, I said "if"
), I would go with the Injen. Mainly because it's basically 2 intakes in one; I'm not 100% sure I'd want a full CAI (afraid of sucking-up water), but it's nice to know that I'd have it if I wanted it.
That said, I'm STILL not totally sold on the idea of paying $200 for sound...

I'd go with the Injen just because the SRI and CAI capabilities. And Mike... do it!!! It's not just sound. You do get some gains from it.

You are right in other cases but I was mainly just touching base as far as performance. Of course, pricing out and buying quality parts is key that doesn't count as personal preference.
