Angry My Car Stopped Running While Driving!!

So today at lunch I was driving and all of a sudden my car shuts off! There is still power to everything but its not running. So I turn the key off, and try to start it back up, it wont fire, it turns over fine, but its not even trying to fire. So then I try and push start it. Nothing there, wont start again. So after 30 minutes of letting it sit and trying to start it with no success, I have it towed to the dealership. Its on its way now. Anyone have any ideas what it could be? I am thinking fuel pump, but who knows?

Shell V-Power, thats all that I use. I did just fill up this morning so I guess I could have gotten bad gas. But I would assume it would try and fire, it doesnt seem like there is any fuel getting to the cylinder.

So the dealership called, they said it was a theft deterrent failure. They are trying to fix the problem they have been working on it for an hour and a half. He didnt explain real well what it meant, can someone who knows what this means explain it. Thanks

My understanding of the TDS is there are little "magnets" that are put into play when inserting the key. So a screwdriver can't be rammed in to start the car.

I am guessing that one of these magnets has malfuntioned?

I think i may know whats going on

Our cars use PassLock, which means each key is coded to our car, the key has to be programmed in order to work on a specific car. Maybe the sensor in your car which identifies the key as being yours malfunctioned. When the car detects that the key being used is not programmed to it, the car will shut off the fuel pump, which explains your situation.

Many car companies use this type of theft deterrent technology. Its just a simple RFID tag. Wikipedia has a good article on it.
