3" will not gain more then a 2.5" is true for a Stock SS/SC, but if you replace the stock downpipe, you'll see more gains with the 3" then the 2.5".

and if you really start to put down more power (~300HP), a 3" will be needed, because the 2.5" will start to become more restrictive.
