Cobalt SS 2.0 parts to Cobalt LS 2.2

Hey guys. I just got a Cobalt LS 2.2 and my brother has the 2005 Cobalt SS 2.0 Supercharged. I was just wondering if any of his parts would fit on my car, such as the exhaust. Until the funds become available I want to put his stock exhaust on my car, becuase he has a Borla on his now. Would I be able to do this? Do they match up or not at all? Thanks!

I have the 2.2 and I plan to switch to the 2.0 S/C exhaust. Shouldn't be any problems with that swap, other parts I'm not sure.

I've noticed that the muffler on the 2.0 and the 2.2 LTZ Sedan is the same, except for the tip. If you look closely the only thing that changes is the inlet of gases going to the muffler is slightly bigger on the SS. Whoopie..

Most parts should bolt right up, the 2.0 = 2.2.

The bolt patterns are the same so you can switch it over. There are other interchangable parts that you could do.

Which parts? lol Sorry for the very open ended question, but from reading your posts I know you know your stuff so maybe you could suggest some interesting 2.0 to 2.2 swapable parts.

If you wanted to, you could swap over his supercharger to your car...only problem would be fuel management.

All of the SS suspension parts swap. The wheel hubs are obviously different (4 vs 5 lug). You already know about the exhaust. All body panels are interchangeable. All interior parts are interchangeable.

The powertrain is a different story. But I'm guessing your brother doesn't plan on pulling that out, so you shouldn't have to worry about that.

any suspension parts or engine parts that bolt to the head will fit up. The blocks are different though.

he means you have to swap the injector clips. I haven't heard about it but if the ss injectors won't plug in directly then that what you have to do.

the gm sport compact performance bulid book i have the actual book but it can be found online in pfd formatt it goes over most of the stuff they did to the race engines also how to make 2.2 hit certain power levels like 400 hp 600 hp 1000hp 1400hp but swapping to our bolt patter mean you would have to go to drum brakes in the back and why would you wanna do that

What more can I do to enhance the performance in the engine??? I'm trying to get what ever I can because when I head back down south they don't know much about Cobalts...!!! So I honestly feel like I have a concept car at times..nahmean...???

why exactly are you running the larger injectors? I see no reason for those.

as NJHK said, a lot of things will swap over, I'm running a few LSJ parts myself

Hey guys, I just went to the dealership and asked about the exhaust, they said that it cannot be done. The reasons why were vin numbers wouldn't match (not a big deal to me) and that the cat's on the two cars were different and the emmissions would be different, so it can't be done. Any suggestions? I still want to do it, as long as it does not mess up my car, and as long as I can still keep my warranty. Thanks!

thats all they want is to keep the car a Daily driver, and to keep it economic (hence ECOtec??? ) physicaly it CAN be done as for gm it CANT.
