Final 2005 Allocations?

Information posted on this site previously stated that this was the last week GM was giving out allocation for the 2005 Cobalt model year. Can anyone confirm this to be correct? All cars allocated this week would be scheduled to be built at the end of the production cycle in mid June.

I'm just trying to confirm at what point I will revoke my unfilled order and get my deposit money back, so I'm free to do something else or go to another dealer. I just don't want to do that until I'm 101% sure I will not be getting a 2005.

My dealer has no brains and cannot give me adequate answers.

This week your dealers got their report showing their final allocation for the buildout of 05's. This report is for the final build weeks of the Cobalt. It covers the order cycles beginning 5/19, 5/26, 6/2, 6/9 and 6/16. These are all Thursdays because that is the day that order cycles start. You dealer should know if he has any Cobalts and which week they are. The only thing he will not know until the week of each cycle is whether or not he has allocation for an SS.

Thanks for the information. That confirms it.

So, it sounds like I unfortunately have to wait it out till the end of June because there IS stlll a small possibility my G85 SS could be accepted, right?

That's good in the sense that there is still hope. Bad in the sense that I am pretty much banking they will not accept mine and I am tied up from doing anything else in the meantime.

On a side note, can you please confirm when the first allocations will come in for 2006?

There are no more G85 orders being taken. They have built out that option for '05.

They start taking orders for '06 the last week of this month and start building them the 3rd week in July.

Ok.. you don't know when the first round of 2006 allocations will be then. Probably somewhere between the start of ordering and the third week in July, right?

I wonder when we'll actually know if they are building any G85's right off the bat for 2006 or they will have it on hold AGAIN!! Ugh... Well at least I know now, I don't get mine. I'm getting my deposit back. I have better things to do with the money they have. My dealer wanted $1000! If I do order a 2006, it certainly won't be from them!
