How long will you have your 'BALT?
How long will you have your 'BALT?
I just traded in my 97 Cav Z24 with 51,000 miles and I could have easily kept it another 5 years with the way I kept it (washed, waxed, no rain/winter driving etc).
So now I have the 2.4 SS sedan and hope to keep it for at least 10 years and maybe longer if it holds up (barring tons of little prob...we'll see there). It wont have to be driven much during bad winter weather etc.
SOOOOOO.......how long do you plan to keep your Cobalt? Did you get it planning to have it a long time or until you get bored and move along to the next cool car?

I'm going with 6-10 also. I bought my car to be a 'keeper'- my goal is to get it paid-off (early if possible) and keep it for as long as it's running reliably. I'd really like to not have a car payment for once!
I will keep it as long as it is reliable, if it becomes a huge problem or what not, im sure ill sell it...
although my next car will most likely be AWD and turbo (take a guess) lol.....that wont be for a while

I want to keep it forever. I'm in my mid 20s and this is the first performance type car I have owned personally and I would like to think that one day I will look back at it as fondly as my father does his first muscle car. It might be fun 25 years from now to pull it out of a garage and take it for a spin or a show and have people looking at it going "I remember those" or "I used to have one just like it".
I know it won't ever be a highly sought after collectable but it may be something neat to have in my possesion a few decades from now as a conversation piece.
As for when I will get my next car. I will say 5 years or so depending on if I end up getting married in the next few years or not. I am pretty sure my next car will be more family orientated because I will probably be in that stage of my life. So in a way, keeping this car after I have moved into that next phase of life will be like keeping a little bit of my younger years with me.

Forever. Mine will be driven and raced for the next couple of years and then I am buying a new 08-09 Cobalt SS\?? and that will be my daily driver and this one will go to racing only. I keep these long enough to make money on them after I die. I love my Cobalt and for the money I am putting into it, I better love it.
10 or more for me as well, i plan on keeping it until i can pass it on to my future children. My first two cars were used so this is my first new car, and i feel thats something special. Something i dont ever see myself getting rid of
