Redline to SRT-4 to Jetta GLI

Wow dealerships must be dumb to give practically new value on all these cars. Anywho, I should probably start leasing. Just got rid of the Neon and hopped into the Jetta GLI. I love it. Any comments from the lovers or the haters are welcome.

well I got the redline after I got rid of the ION 3 2.4 because I wanted speed. Then the ION wasnt fast enough (before stage kits came out). So I got the SRT-4 because it was a 4-door(I like sedans) and it was faster than the redline and I got Stage 2 for that and was pushing 19psi, it was nice, but was not very refined, loud and abrasive and the interior sucked. So I got the Jetta GLI because it was sporty(nice scoot to it) and it handles very well and the interior and options are top notch plus I always wanted a v-dub. I love the car and it is an absolute joy to drive.

easy killer, no pun intended. I never said the Cobalt SS was a bad car, I love it. But the argument stock for stock the SRT is faster and Ill stick by that opinion(fact in my reality). And I never said the SRT was all great and everything, I just said it was faster. Thanks though.

my friend has the gli with a body kit, it is one of my favorite cars, you can really build up big HP numbers with those cars. Great purchase and congrats

The 2.0t is a great engine but really lacks up top. I do love how the GLI drives and the interior is great (yes I'm a dash stroker). The only gripe I have with VW these days are their high prices. I'm currently selling my modded 01 GTI and just bought a SS/SC. To me, to get a GTI or GLI optioned out as much as the SS/SC it would have cost close to 27-28k which was WAY too high for me. The SS was also quicker in a straight line and you could make it quicker without voiding the warranty which VW is extremely serious about (I know from experience).

Enough of my ranting, the GLI is a great car that has been designed very well, not to mention roomy and fun to drive. Good luck with it. BTW, if you dont know already, www.vwvortex.com is your friend, Live Breath and Eat it, it'll save your a$$ many times over.
