Exclamation Do You Have Warped Rotors? Pls Vote

I want to be able to show that this is more than just a problem on my car so i want to bring in something to prove it.... my rotors are toasted at 7k miles.

If you've had this problem please please vote. even if your rotors are fine, vote. just takes a minute of your time

I voted no. I have 15000 miles and haven't had an issue. I've done about 15 auto-x's and about 60 passes on the strip. Even with the 20's I don't have issues. I got the car in November too

Took mine to the dealer at 12,500 miles to get the rotors turned. I started to notice vibration a 10,000 and it just got worse. Seems good now.

Don't let them BS you. My Rotors went out after 20,000 miles and it's not because I drive hard, it's because they are cheap and they use the same rotors for ALL cobalts (Sedans, Coupes, SuperSport Models).

Don't let them resurface your rotors. It only makes it worse. Once they are grooved your screwed.

****, mine were warped at 4k.

Haven't brought it in yet, the vibration isn't really that bad yet plus I'm very **** about other people touching my car.....I may just look in to spending the $$ and buying better rotors. The factory ones are just going to warp right away anyway.....

It would help if GM and dealers would check whell lug nut torque before the cars hit the streets.

Mine first showed signs of warping at 2,000 miles wnd when I checked the lugs some were loose and some were way to tight. My dealer turned them at 3,000 miles.

After having my clutch replaced at 7,500 miles the tech forgot to torque my wheels again and they warped again! This time they replaced them, with sweet drilled and sloted ones I might add!

i thought i warped mine because of 'severe usage'... Napierville Dragway has a really short runoff and hauling the car down from 90mph in the short period run after run sure didn't help... the dealer says he'll warranty the rotors, but I've gotta spring for the pads.

btw, mine warped around 22,000 miles... the car has 33,000 now.

I had the rotors on my 2.4 turned twice in 9000 miles.... and I'm sure the problem will keep happening to whoever gets that car.

i have the 2.4 and my rotors were warped at like 5,000 miles. the dealer machined them and it was covered under warranty. they told me next time it wouldn't be under warranty though

Mine were warped and re-surfaced before 3,000 miles. They were then replaced under warranty by the dalership with GMP Cross drilled and slotted rotors. Major difference. Even if the a-holes at your dealer doesn't fix them, try taking it to another dealer (that's what I had to do) Also call GM Customer Service and make sure they have it on file.

Don't let them pull that schitt on you. If they are under warranty once they are under warranty always.

so i finally took mine into the dealer... 7k miles on the car and they tell me they will not cover them because of severe braking.... funny cuz i always downshift to slow down and i've only had one close call where i slammed on the brakes and i wasnt going any faster than 50mph when that happened. So basicly im going to bring this thread in and show them its a problem with the car if 60%+ drivers of these cars are having problems

Remember you have to break in your brakes. If you jam them in the beginning, guaranteed they will be warped.

Just a thought.

So I have to vote No

What is the direct detection of them being warped, vibration or groves in the rotors? oh yea and i have another question........my brake pedal seems to stick in like it doesnt come all the way back out for some reason.......it is enough to make the lights come on and to notice a power difference....the pedal sinks in about 1/2 an inch and when my bro was driving down to tampa and he had forgot about it and he said the brakes started smoking they got so hot so i was wondering if anybody else had this problem?

Wouldnt suprise me, alot techs dont seem to retorque the wheels. I also check and retorque my wheels if they ever come off just for that reason.
