problem with my sunroof??????
problem with my sunroof??????
ok i have an 05 cobalt ss/sc and i just noticed today that my sunroof does not go all the way down part of it sticks up is this normal? i am going to take into a dealer and have them look at it i am sure it is fixable but has this happened to anyone else?
it could have slipped off of the rails on one side. It happened to my 97 eclipse. one half of the sunroof didn't go down/seal all of the way when I closed it. It's definately fixable though, take it to the dealer.
thats wierd b/c mine broke right after i bought it about 2 months ago the track broke so it wouldnt go all the way down on the driver side.....there was a huge gap prob about half an inch so i had to take it in and they had to buy a whole new sunroof......i could hear it pop when i shut it so i def knew something broke.....if it is a big gap that is prob what happened or if it is just alittle off it could just need to be adjusted there are screws on each side of the sunroof that you can loosen to adjust them.....2 hex screws on each side
bavoose mine did the same thing it wouldnt shut all the way on one side. there seemed to be a clip that did not slide with the rest of the sunroof i just moved it back into place and it closed. i still have not been able to get it to the dealer to get it looked at.

yeah this happened to me as well about a month after i got my ss/sc. Looks like its pretty common.
While we're talking about parts breaking, anyone have to replace their catalytic converters? They had to replace mine when the car only had 16,000 miles on it. The day before i brought my 05 in someone with an 06 ss/sc brought theirs in with the same problem. No reason a new car like this should need new cats so soon.

they put a brand new sunroof kit in it.

happened to me two weeks after the purchase of the car. Its aparently the passenger side track most of the time and its usually cus the original install is too tight. The glass should be slightly higher than a flush fit when closed so that it can flex properly when the car is in motion. The guys at my dealer said you should be able to see the glass actually pop up slightly when the windows are all rolled up and you close the doors which should show that it is installed properly. If it doesn't pop up then it is installed too tightly.
