Thumbs up Pictures of LFP Extreme HE for Cobras...

is now going to be made for LSJs

Different sizes though...here is the picture of the HE that just arrived today. Tomorrow I will be fabricating brackets for this to mount nicely so everything is plug and play for when people get theirs.

I believe this heat exchanger is a prototype for the Redline. If I recall correctly, LFP's heat exchangers have the print on them, wether it say Cobra or Redline. LFP is a company. The heat exchanger is for the supercharger coolant system.

Yeah, I made all the original posts and everything about them, just wanted to start a new thread for the actual product.

The products for the cobalt and redline will be completely different though. Larger ice box and HE for the RL...the guy doing the stuff for the cobalt gave a smaller dimension for the HE than I did. I'm using the exact same one that they sell for the cobras and lightnings.

Either way, they will show amazing increases compared to a stock cobra HE, much less you have to fabricate your own mounting if you just buy a stock one off eBay or anywhere and then it depends on how clean you want it. They will do custom stencil so you can get whatever you want on it...

This looks promising. Will the stock one still be used along with this one? Is this hard to install? I want mine to say SUPERCHARGED in black. sign me up.

Stock will stay, just going to break the lines up and direct it to this one so there are really only two hoses you mess with, which should come in a kit with this. I am designing the brackets tomorrow for it to be a pretty straight forward install...trying to see if I can make it where it is an hour install process.

As far as wording and color? Yes, I'm pretty sure Mark at LFP would be more than happy to accomidate to what you want on there.

Interesting. I heard a new HE wouldn't yeild that much power at all because the stock HE is sufficient enough. Looks cool though.

I disagree with that. Look at the post by ENUFPWR. He saw gains, Rob saw gains, and I saw gains by adding a second heat exchanger. Maybe just replacing the stock heat exchanger is what you mean?

Yeah exactly just replacing the stock HE with this one. I thought thats what this is for. To completely replace the stock HE. If this is added with the stock HE I can see how it would help. What kind of gains did you guys see? I don't see a post by ENUFPWR

Cobra guys never saw gains by replacing their stock heat exchanger. We do it so we have less heat soak, and over multiple pulls the car won't lose power.

An Ice box with ice is the only way we gained power from cooling mods (until the ice melts).

1)They're building an ice box for the Cobalt and RL...the one for the RL is actually larger than the one for Cobras so more coolant and more room...as far as ice, I'm only going to use dry ice. Lasts longer and cooler temps.

2)I know the Cobras use them for heat soak issues, but the LSJs will lose IAT2 temps, which will change the density of the air which always gives some gains. Many people see about 20-25* temp loses from what I have heard that put on the HE (just the stock Cobra HE). I will end up finding out how big of a loss this one offers here soon.

Yeah so I guess it's worth it for less heat soak. I like the icebox for the track.

Even when pushing more boost? More boost = more heat does it not?
