im not sure if this is old news or not but i figure some people might not have seen it, it looks awesome and ive always wanted to get rid of that plastic manifold we have. after im turboed this will be a nice addition to the engine bay. i think it fits all cobalts.

How do you install the injectors? Looks like the fuel rail is welded?

Doesn't it give you the option of turning your ss into full out turbo instead of twin charged also?

That is not just an intake manifold. That is the HRC Ecotec Port Fueler. It allows the installation of an extra set of fuel injectors. The fuel rail does actually come off so you can install the injectors.

So would there be no benifit if added to an n/a 2.2?

they said its not reccamended until you are running at least 15 pounds of boost

It IS an intake manifold.Just look at the GMPP site.

Uh, well, yeah, we know it's an intake manifold. But what does it have to do with the GMPP manifold? They are basically the same thing, except the HRC one is smaller and designed for the stock throttle body and is street legal.

HRC is top quality. The Port Fueler setup is one of the best we have seen.

The workmanship on it is reaaly clean

I don't want to start a war so please don't take it this way just a question.

Why do you hate composite so much? I have seen other threads posted about the same thing from you. I have never heard one LS1 owner (myself included) complain that their smallblock had a composite intake manifold. Of course many of us switched them out for aftermarket aluminum ones because you can go a lot bigger on LSx motors but I dont thinke that you will see those V8 kind of gains with an aftermarket manifold for the LSJ. I mean it does already flow some pretty good CFM numbers if I am not mistaken.

I don't completely understand your question. But, if I answer within the topic of the thread, I guess it has to do with why you would use this manifold.

This manifold is specifically designed to be used in forced induction applications. The stock manifold is good for up to around 10 psi, but once you start getting past that, you start hitting it's structural limits. Besides providing a stronger part, this manifold is a plenum and runner design, and it incorporates provisions for additional injectors.

Are you just specifically talking about the 2.2 or does this also include the ss/sc manifold as well?

Specifically referring to the intake manifold on both the 2.2L and 2.4L Ecotecs. The 2.0L Ecotec has a different manifold that can obviously handle 10psi or more (I've seen up to 21psi personally).

And yes, Halfcent nailed it. Celicacobalt is talking about this manifold because the stocker on the 2.4L will need to be upgraded with a turbo kit installed once running a decent amount of boost (I'd guess anything past stage 2 from Hahn will require, or at least recommend, a new manifold). Celica is completely justified in not liking "composite" manifolds for the project that he's planning.

I've seen sohc neons with composite manifolds run 14+psi of boost lol...also seen em get blown apart on nitrous backfires

Haha... not saying it's impossible to run f/i on a composite manifold. Just saying that if celica is going to go all out with his turbo project, then he's smart to consider replacing the stock manifold on his car.
