I have driven both! The Malibu Maxx SS would take a Cobalt SS/SC! ....Sorry guys, the truth hurts.

the MAXX SS is the 3.9V6 with 240 HP with a 4speed auto, same as in the G6 GTP. Quick but not as fast as the SS. Aren't they like a 15.2?

They share the same engine as a 06 GTP G6.

My friend has a 06 GTP 3.9 liter w/ 6 speed manual, and he can not best 14.9 @ 96 w/ Dr. Speed intake and exaust. Before his mods he couldnt break the 15's.

If you have decent drivers in both cars the COBALT SS WILL WIN HANDS DOWN!

 

Just for the record, I hit the malibu maxx button by accident....so take 1 away from the malibu....oops....can't eat, think, and operate a mouse at the same time

 

The Malibu would be better put against the SS NA...
But I'm sure you can drive, eat, apply makeup, and talk on the phone at the same time. *runs and hides*

But I love the interior on the maxx, especially the steering wheel so much nicer and smaller then ours

Is the malibu FWD? For that matter, are all the SS cars FWD? Is the impala? Why is that?

 

Yeah, Cobalt no doubt, but they are sharp cars, kinda grew on me, as did the new Impala front ends.

 

Now that you mention it, that's pretty funny...I think the only SS vehicles that are rear-drive are trucks.

 

by the looks of things the busted ass camaro in my sig is faster than that damn malibu.... lol and it has a blown valve right now

 

Looks like if there's an SS camaro in 08 it will be chevy's first RWD SS car! Why tf isn't the impala RWD?

 

It's not a rwd platform...they re-designed the car, but to my knowledge it's still riding on a platform that dates back to the 80s, with some modifications in between then and now, of course. Speculation is that in '09, it will move to the Zeta (new Camaro) platform, which is rwd. Time will tell!

 

Cobalt SS/SC without a doubt.....period!

from all ive heard, the concept is on the zeta platform. the SS PROBABLY will NOT be an option... there will be the V6 version (camaro) and the v8 version (Camaro Z28) and rumored there would be a ZR-1 version dating back from the 60's that will house the 505hp LS7 motor... although an SS version would be nice since chevy has been on this SS thing lately where they are making an SS version of every car, hehe. From 1970-1997 there wasn't a camaro ss... but yeah, back to the new camaro, it is an independant rear suspension rwd car that is supposed to have a curb weight of 3200 lbs... sounds like a beast to me... thats why i bought my cobalt, so i can have something to trade in for a camaro ss in 2009
