Should I ...

OK as many may already know I had black SS on order with everything... as in my SIG, now I know I cant get this car and I was going to switch to an 06' order

then poof GM offers Employee prcing on all 2005 models now my 25,650 dollar car is almost under 23k.... hmm

so i found a red with G85 an hour away from me and I'm debating just buying it even though I wanted black

basically I save almost 3k for taking a diff color its fully loaded otherwise

So pay the extra 3k in 06' or take the red 05' now

Black or red

I would jump on it: I've had black (including a triple black Camaro SS) and red (currently Precision Red with Cobalt Red interior C6) and both need the California Car Duster on a regular basis as well as frequent washings. My black G85 is on the truck but if the Precision Red did not so violently clash with the Victory Red, I would have gone for a red G85. -- laborsmith
And saving $3000 is not to be laughed at. -- laborsmith

I say stick with the black car. Nobody wants the G85 package anyway.

Can you give me directions to the dealer that has the red SS with G85

Since I understand there aren't many 2005's with G85, I'd go ahead and get it. If you want the package anyways, might as well get the '05 and have a rare and unique car. Just something else to add to your resale value besides the low miles you'll be starting out with (2005 is half over, you'd already have 4k miles less on your '05 than I have on mine ).

Black is the worst color you could choose for a car. Red is hot, and is faster lol. Go for it dude. I want silver soooooooooooooooooooooooooo badly, but I think NJ hates the color silver, so there arent any in my state. I may get red, my second choice, just because this deal is to good to pass up. You have to go for it. Nothing wrong with red

I would probably take it as well. The only G85 within driving distance to me was a crappy silver one. A silver SS is the last color in the entire world I would want that car to be. I would take Red.. Blue.. Black.. Yellow.. or even Sunburst Orange.. but Silver is ugly(no offense to anyone who actually got a silver one).

Look at the money you're saving. People on this board is claiming the 2006 price is going up 1 or 2% for 2006 as well. Don't let GM screw you with the 2006. They couldn't deliver in 2005.. then they want to raise the price and double screw in 2006.

silver is prob one of the best colors. you can not wash your car for weeks and it still looks clean, it hides dirt, hides scratches. Silver is by far the easiest color to keep looking good, and it doesnt fade as quickly as other colors. Black, disgusting..hard to keep clean, looks like death after 1 week, orange kinda looks like throw up lol, red is nice, but sticks out like sore thumb for cops, blue isn't too bad, but the inserts look like aqua to me, yellow looks like ur driving a banana. but thats mine opinion, to each his own.

Heres an update... I decided to think about it last night before I took my deposit for my 06' and bought this one, then of course the dealer who has the Red one called me this morning and said someone put a deposit down. DAMN IT, I decided I was gonna get it too. Well anyways he said he will call em on Sat becuase the person has to decide by then and he doesnt think its going to go through so I'll cross my fingers that they have horrible credit and stuff...lol

So basically I decided Black paint wasnt worth almost 3k

Yeah, but I can tell you what's going to happen.

1.) GM will revoke all the nice rebates and discounts for the '06 SS's.

2.) They will raise the MSRP price in general for 2006.

In the end.. any of us who got screwed and have to get an '06 will end up paying nearly $3000 more than we need to with increased prices and no rebates. They really want to shove it in our corn holes.

I can't argue any of those points. But, Silver is in my opinion one of the ugliest car colors ever. Not to mention, probably half of the people who drive newer civic's drive silver ones. I see silver cars everywhere. I want something that is somewhat unique AND looks good! hehe I'd take almost any color over silver.

you say you see silver everywhere??? how about black?? and now with the SS's, everyone has Red. No one, except one guy i think has silver. I dont care if everyone civic made was silver. silver seems to be a hard color to come by now with the SS. If you dont like it, you dont like it, your opinion

How can you order an '06 without any pricing information? This doesn't make sense to me. You ordered a car and you don't know how much you're going to pay for it?
